Mesh to Sail Slider Modification?

I was thinking of attaching a peace of f 111 to my mesh slider with velcro. Making a temp sail slider, has anyone have any problem with this modification? A friend told me about it and I wanted to get a second opinion on it.

Choosing a BASE conopy size

Most jumpers are moving toward larger, slower canopies. When I started this sport, I did the above math and bought myself a Fox 265. However, after a few jumps, I've decided to upsize, and will probably buy canopies in the 280 range from here on out.
