So really recently I took my first sky dive, and it was the greatest thing I've done in my entire life. I loved it, and was thinking BASE jumping seemed pretty sweet too. ASo I wanted to look into it, but I have no idea how to even start...where would I go? What would I do first??

Take one step at a time and learn to skydive first.

hi, not basejumped yet & slowly progressing through skydiving with 50+ jumps. i was initially told a few years ago by a base jumper that its normal to do 800 jumps before 1st base jump, but on avge ppl jump after 500.
however now (few years later) i am hearing of so many base jumpers with so few skydives - nearer 100. has base jumping safety increased this much? are there any statistics out there proving that basejumping can be safe for less experienced skydivers? i.e. are basejumping fatalities spread evenly acrossed experienced / inexperienced skydiver. sorry for digging up an old thread its just i am very keen to get involved in base jumping & wanted to know if what I have heard is reasonable. obv diff ppl develop at diff rates & one can learn much more from 200 difficult skydives than someone fun jumping 500+ at the same DZ. thanks. |
