Question Anyone from Miami got some ?'s

Well im a total and complete newbie when it comes to even skydiving, I plan on starting some skydiving within the next couple months the latest being April and I know I have a long way to go before I even think about FJC or anything base related. I was wondering is there anyone in or near Miami that is an established base jumper, and is there any mentors in the area I can hopefully get schooled when I finaly get to that point. And where do you think is the best place to begin my journy and get some skydiving exp. in Miami?

hi - there are numerous similar posts on here about starters (can search for them), & the answers are quite similar

~ start skydiving & try on dropzone.com for local DZs etc
~ do loads of skydives (who knows how many - benchmark around 200), inc CREW, balloon / heli jumps / tracking jumps / canopy accuracy etc
~ learn first aid & perhaps specifically mountain trauma first aid skills
~ learn - read, watch etc as much about base as poss - the knowledge pages on here are a gd start
~ get on groundcrew - be easier once you get in at a DZ

if by then you still want to basejump & you think you have the relative skills to pursue, sign up on an FJC & get yourself a mentor. you shld have by then bumped into a few basejumpers in & around the skydiving community so shouldnt be too hard.

gd luck.

April 4th I will take my first skydive. I'm going for the AFF instead of tandem at Miami skydiving in homestead.

go to air adventures in clewiston, its not a tandem factory and they have weekend turbines. pay your first jump seperately, just to see if you are up for it. I did aff w/out tandems to save money and im thankful i didn't dislike it.
