Default 1st Switzerland, Italy, Norway trip :-P

Hey all,

I am an Aussie newbee to the BASE world, I have 230 skydives and 1 BASE heading on over to Spain to do a FJC early August before heading up the Swiss valley then ova to Italy. Looking for a good crew with experiance in the BASE world to huck off some walls or anyone really to have some beers with haha but in genral to have a great safe first overseas trip. Fly out of Italy, Milan 21st of August ova to Norway, Oslo. Got a wingsuit weekend planned at a DZ with some friends to start but keen to head West then toward Voss for some BASE and a look around so if any crew have got some rough plans I would love to tag along....

Heading to the end of season skydive boogie out the back of Oslo too.
Anywayz I am sure to see ya's out there at some stage or even at the ol
Horner pub in the Valley :-P

Cheers
Sharpy

One should base one's BASE trip on the difficultly level of the objects IMHO. Progressive difficulty levels should be taken sequentially so one has the best chance of completing the trip.
Take care,

"Looking for a good crew with experiance..."

A good crew with experiance might not take you to the valley right after your fjc...

A good ground crew nor a mentor would take a newbie to the valley in such a short time.

Maybe revisiting the BFL and noting all the deaths in the valley, should be done....

I think you should read Getting Into BASE

So should any ground crew, or would-be mentor...

Cheers for the response's,

I have no intension to jump anything out of my capacity as a beginner and realise there are many advanced locations which will be unsuitable for a jumper of my experiance level and knowledge.

More than happy to tag along as an observer and see these awesome sites first hand. I am quite sure i can learn much through observations and getting involved rather than sitting in a pub somewhere yeh?

Gotta run for now

Hey all,

Word out to all the good crew i met on my travels had a great time and was good to meet such a great group of people willing to help out and show me around. Got in a heap of great jumps from a variety of awesome locations and difficulties. I have come away from my trip with a little more knowledge, confidence in my skills and at least know my way around for next season. Looking forward to jumping with ya's next summer. In the mean time take care and see ya next year :-P

Like wise Patto,

Nah didn't jump LB this time round. I was invited to a Swiss trip with my FJC tutor but had to head back to work when they had planned to go. It was was nice hiking to the exit points with some good crew taking some footage and hiking back down though :-P Which i might add i got some clips ya boyz might want? Anywayz plan in place for next season looking forward to some more good times and to progress in my jumping.

Till next one

Later
Sharpy

As an instructor and mentor, the metaphor that I could apply is that one pushes the applicant from the back to the top of the hill and runs around to the front to slow the applicant down. As Mick once said, "One doesn't know what one doesn't know". That is a spot on thingy.
Take care,
