I want to learn all I can before I take my first jump. I also do not want to spend to much on sky dive Jumps. Any recommendations? I am a total newbie. Never even been on a jump, but want to take this slow and not pay a lot of people.

What is a cheaper way to learn.... I didnt learn to climb from a guide. what makes this different? Thats more what I ment
spend money for a few hundred skydives and work on canopy accuracy. you meet people who will take you on your first base jumps at dropzones, not on the internet. you cant halfass this shit, there is no cheaper way to learn unless you want to wake up dead. good luck
this isnt climbing
Thanks for the info. Good ideas makes sense! How do you find local drop zones?
well, it's not climbing. i didn't pay anyone to teach me how to run faster either.
there is no equal replacement for actual experience when it comes to flying your body or a parachute. making a few skydives might give you some perspective. if not, it will just be a matter of time before you are seriously injured or worse.
skydiving and BASE jumping are expensive hobbies. you're either all in it, or you're a liability.
Yes this sounds all so true. I wont be able to sky dive for some ime because I am saving money. In what ways can I expand my knowlage on base jumping and sky diving?
So, if you can't afford to skydive, what makes you think you can afford to BASE?
BASE ain't free.
Well, then why aren't you listening to all the experienced people who have posted, essentially telling you yes, you really should have "all those skydives".
You seem to be yet another person who has watched all the cool videos on YouTube, fancies himself to be "extreme" and just wants a quick, easy way into BASE.
Listen to what people are telling you, there is no quick easy way in! Learn to skydive, a huge percentage of skills are shared between BASE and skydiving...
I would link you to the BASE Fatality List, but it is currently down for maintenance. There are several entries on it by people who took the quick, easy way in.
Nice. Good to hear someone who knows there stuff. No easy way in. I will do the dives than. Thanks guys
There are a bunch of links, and a ton of information right at the top of the Beginners Forum page...
...you probably rushed past them in your haste to post.![]()
Your whole attitude is lazy and screams "I want it my way."
If you are so stupid that you can't even figure out how to find a dropzone near you then you already sound like a liability. Do you get your mother to wipe your ass when you're done potty?
Toodles
There is also the possibility of going at it too fast and simply injuring your body in the process. Even if you have health insurance, you can expect to pay out several thousand dollars for a simple thing like a busted femur. There are no BASE bloopers (ack! there are BONES poking out of my pant leg!) on Youtube, only hero shots.
Slow and steady wins the race. You wouldn't know it, but BASE is about patience. Better to give your $$ to the DZ than the hospital.
