Ueli had a bad crash a couple of days ago on a building jump where he hit another building on the way down before surging into the ground. He is in a coma now. Head is swelling. Please WAKE UP UELI. Sleeping now is avoiding the pain of the elbow, hip and pelvis surgery but it is time to feel it and come back to us MAN. I'm praying for you brother. You are an inspiration! I've heard of a saying from a jedei that goes. Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. I'm getting really tired of that training GOD DAMMIT! Throw us a bone and please help Ueli recover in the next few days!!!!!!

Ueli passed away this afternoon.
He was a pioneer in BASE jumping and develped the sport, not only by his actions as a jumper but also as a face of BASE jumping in Switzerland to the media and normal public.
He will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolence to his family and his girlfriend.

That saying makes sense when said to the straight-off-aff types who are getting ahead of their skill level, but loses effect and is juat an out-of-place comment when you're talking about someone with Ueli's level of experience and time in the game.

Not attacking you for saying it, but it's a bit of a cliche`.

I saw the video of the jump. Much was not in view, but it seems he tripped over the adjacent building? correct? Does anyone know anymore details?

Also, people mentioned that his head was swelling. I can NOT ascertain if he was wearing a helmet. And if he was, what kind was it?

I saw the video as well and what I took from it was that he was too low to make his desired landing area (the street) and tried to make it anyways, clipping the edge of the building directly below him. More information on this would be awesome.

I never met Ueli but I remember hearing his name and seeing this video of a presentation that he did. Sounded like a pretty cool guy with a lot of skills. Sorry to see another skilled jumper die.
