For doing it just once, you need to train yourself (=tranining yourself, traning yourself in dead air exits, buying your own equipment, becoming able to assemble it, to pack it, to use it, becoming an expert canopy pilot (=flight, landing) through hundreds of skydives, ...) just like if you are going to do BASE for all your life long.
Then you take your first BASE jump.
Then you decide if you want to stay with your one and unique BASE jump or if you want to continue in the sport.
As an old timer in the sport says: to do just one BASE jump is easy. What is very difficult is to be able to do the second one and successive ones and to keep on living your normal life (=not shattered body...)

Hi Peter,
I suspect that this is a troll, however, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt.
This is a VERY BAD idea. Your question is roughly equivalent to "my friends and I came up with an idea to drive in the Indy 500--what would we have to do to prepare?"
Sure, you could jump in your car and get on the track. And you might even be able to drive the 500 miles. But would you be getting the whole experience? I doubt it. Would it be a whole lot more dangerous than if you were properly prepared? It absolutely would.
Please don't do this. If you want to BASE jump, you must be properly prepared. That preparation will take significantly more effort than a senior trip. Even if you only intend to do one BASE jump. Anyone who tells you otherwise (a) doesn't understand the risks involved, (b) is lying to you, or (c) has no concern for your continued well being.
There are plenty of intense activities that are significantly less dangerous, and which can be done with minimal training (and professional supervision). Consider rafting, or climbing, or tandem skydiving. It would be very foolish to approach BASE jumping in this manner.

Actually, it kind of depends which high school you go to. There is at least one high school that has a PE credit for a BASE trip to a bridge. It's a mini FJC, and they are PCA'd or static lined on a round, into H20.
But this is for info only--it's still a stupid freakin idea.
I'm completely apalled that a high school would offer a PE credit for a BASE jump! I tried to set up a skydiving club at my local community college and was completely shot down...I guess they had more sense than this high school.
And I totally agree, this is a stupid freakin' idea.
It's sad but true...and idiot with a credit card and the ability to buy online can get gear and go f*ck themselves up. Moe's predictions are sadly coming true. BASE is likely to take some huge hits in the next few years. Buckle up and hang on, boys. We're in for a rocky ride with this kind of crap floating in the tank.
Peace,
K
To Tom,
It would not be to foolish for a first time BASE Jumper to have a partner direct bag him off a low 100' bridge over good deep water.:P
Sincerly,
Smiley
have you guys ever heard of "Death camp"?
