New At BASE

I dont know were to start really. I am a skydiver who wants to start BASE jumping. I had a really good friend who did it and I was going to join him but he died. (Natural Causes Not BASE jumping). Anyway, I really know nothing about BASE gear or were to jump or were to start! Could someone give me a non-bias opinion about what is the best gear out there, were to learn, and any info that might be helpful. As a skydiver it seems pretty easy after all these years. PD, Sunpath, Cypress. I wish I knew the BASE comparision for these companies. Not to say that other companies aren't just as good it's just that I have come to trust and rely on those particular companies. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
