getting into it

I'm interested in BASE jumping but I don't know where to begin. I'd appreciate advice from anyone with experience, on practical steps to trying out this sport in the right way. Thanks.

I'd suggest finding a skydiving dropzone and going to learn how to fly a canopy--WELL first (about 400 jumps). Then speak to one of the manufacturers who offer a first BASE course. Also look on this board--through the archives and what not. That's all you need for now.
