I just wanted to let everyone know about a recent run-in I had with the Utah state police. It seems it is illegal to bring any type of alcohol across the state lines. I wanted to post this to let everyone know what can happen if you are driving-oh let's say from Twin Falls to Moab. I was pulled over in Brigham City, Searched because the van smelled like incensce, and they found some beer we had bought in Twin to take with us to Moab. I was ticketed for unlawful importation. Cops said I could call in 2 weeks and find out what the fine was. He was wrong. It is a criminal offense, with a mandatory court apperance. So I had to fly from Rhode Island to Salt Lake to go to court. This offense is punishable by a $1000 fine and a maximum of 6 months in jail. 2 people in court with me went to jail, one for 2 months, the other 4 months. The judge was going to give me 10 days, being that I went out of my way to make it to court. Did get fined $350, and my record now has a class B misdemeanor on it. These people in this town are not very nice to out of towners, either. I just wanted to let the base community know about this if you don't already know. I know alot of us drive to Moab after the Perrine, so be careful. Don't buy anything till you get into Utah, but why would you want too? the beer sucks there anyway. Jake Neises

I grew up in Idaho---It still amazes me that we are allowed to jump off the Perrine bridge. I think, but might be wrong, that more than 50 percent of the folks in Idaho are Mormon. Please do not get me wrong, these are great people, family oriented, decent moraes (plural morals if I spelled that wrong)
would go out of there way to help you...BUT they are Mormon. For anyone who has not grown up in that society---the closest thing would be like a liberal Amish family. I cringe when we are at the bridge and people are carrying around open containers and using the "F" word like it is a vowell or something. We had lunch once with some of the boys from California, they proceeded to become Tequila stunt men, I never laughed so hard, but the poor elderly women in the restaraunt I'm sure will never recover. On our return trip home, we were walking through the Salt Lake airport and one of our crew lost her wallet, understandlbly she was upset, she could not stop saying #####, and I swear we were soon to be arrested. These are good people, despite their laws and such. Its like a custom and culture--- do not clap your hands together in Asia, eat with your left hand---Try not to say ##### a lot around Mormons, or drink alcohol----Shoots they could not drink Diet Coke until they got a revelation from heaven that it was ok around 1982 or so--- It really is another world, think of Idaho and Utah as really big churches----for us and them.

According to God on South Park it actually is the Mormons who got it right. Everyone else is wrong and therefore will burn in hell. They are letting us jump that bridge so they've got something screwed in right I guess.
