I am really sad about this people dead at United States.

But I can´t forget the much more that die EVERY DAY by causes that could be easily avoided. HUNGRY AND DISEASES.

While thousand of people die every day, the humanity ignores them and keep living their lives...

The world is crying for those who died at WTC.
LETS DO SOMETHING, BETTER THAN CRY, FOR THOSE WHO DIE EVERY DAY WAITING THE WORLD TO HELP THEM !!!!

Finally, capitalism kills off the old Hobbes adage that life is "nasty, brutish and short:" The lifespan in countries that embrace capitalism is close to 80; the lifespan in former communist countries and those that follow 16th century social philosophies is less than 60.

So get a clue, or go back to sleep, "Zzzzzzzzzze," because you obviously slept through the 20th century.

What about all the other forms of life which suffer and die mercilously on this planet (and indeed become extinct) as a result of our behavior? Why do we have so much less compassion for them, simply because they happen to have been born a different species than us dominant humans, earthlings though we all be?

I am sad to see so many innocent people die but I was also sad to hear of Hiroshima,how many innocent people died there?

Politics smolitics! I get pissed off at people too but I don't run out and try to kill someone. Somebody made a conscious decision here to go out and kill thousands of people who didn't even know we were at war, including women and children. Don't try to blame the people of the US for this, or by extension those from the western world ! The ones who financed this will be caught and dealt with. And I"ll be cheering.}>

But we can´t forget: 800 millions people are hungry. And all the countries could spend more money than they already spend to try to solve this HUGE problem.

How can we spend money in constructing bombs, spaceships, star wars, car races, helping banks, and so many other things, while the 800 millions are starving?

Hey guys, I'm in the military and it looks like I'm going to be taking a break from BASE jumping to deal with matters of national security.

It's a possibility that I may be injured or killed as a result of this.

BUT, this is a BASE jumping site. There is hardly any reason to post all this political crap here. I come to this board hoping to read of the exciting adventures of my fellow jumpers. Sometimes I have a technical question and I find help here. One thing I know is that I never come here to read about how the government is responsible for this, and that.... I get enough of that S*#T at work every day.

While I'm gone carrying out the dirty business of a government at war, I'll find comfort in the fact that my BASE jumping Brothers and Sisters are at home keeping the dream alive.

Please, Please, lets keep the politics off the BASE Board (unless it's about those nasty rangers.....half joking of course)

So let's put that trash aside and enjoy the groundrush. "careful there's a planet and it's coming right for us!"

Now that's dirty pool! You really found my weak spot on the baby seals. I gotta tell ya, I've always gotten off on those videos of guy's bashing helpless baby harp seals: the innocent eyes, and then the thud of the club and the red blood on white fur and
snow! Actually, my real trip involves a 22 rifle, a half rack of beer and spring meadow. With a bit of a whistle the young ground squirrels look up to see who's calling, and, POP! It's great the way they then come rolling down the little hillsides. Killing is, really, one of the few things more fun than BASE jumping. I just don't know why we're so hung up about doing it to people, when we do it to animals. I do apologize for extenuating this nonBASE-jumping thread, and shall refrain from doing so hereafter. But, BASE jumping is in fact fascinating partly because of its potentially deadly nature, yes? For the philosophically inclined jumper there are indeed some interesting, BASE-specific philosophical and psychological questions that one may ponder with other jumpers. These questions are not all consuming of course (especially for the very, very experienced among us), but they do, nevertheless pertain to the matter in which one confronts one's own mortality when participating in the sport(nonjumpers, naturally, not typically being able to fully appreciate the import here). Intriguing stuff. Again, sorry for rambling on with this head.

p.s. Last week, I was at a Def Lepard show, and I saw Robin Heid and D.W. and Avery and Dennis together, and they were all best friends.... in fact they all ganged up on me and kicked "...my ugly seppo ass," as Dwain put it. I was horribly hurt. I think I stumbled into some horrible BASE conspiracy. Anybody else had this experience? Avery used one of his boot knives too. My nose is gone. I smell awful.
