Both towers were just hit by planes this morning. I think they took out the top 30 floors of each building, atleast thats all I can get from the reports so far. This is terrible ! The think it might have been terrorist ? you think!

no more WTC jumps... they both collapsed.
Osama Bin Laden is your man.

Sue, that's a pretty ignorant and rash blanket statement. This is a tragedy for our entire nation and for all people around the world. Don't jump to conclusions and don't be part of the problem by contributing to the already-too-prevalent panic and hate.
I hope your brother is okay.
Fair enough. I'm a little stunned. Put yourself in my world. I'm beside myself. But I'm not ignorant. And I'm brave enough to sign my name to my "panic".
I hope YOU didn't lose family.
Okay, I've gotta sympathize with you Sue. And I was only a kid when the first attack on the WTC happened in 1993...but look at it like this. Did we execute them? No...but we were so eager to execute ole Tim after the Oklahoma City bombing. So perhaps we should send out a stronger message this time. Maybe bombing a few people and putting a few people in camps isn't such a bad idea. A slap on the wrist, like last time, is only an invitation for more terrorist action.
But this is the BASE Board...so in relation to BASE jumping, let me ask you this. IS BASE JUMPING REALLY THAT BAD OF A CRIME???? Was good ole John's jump from the WTC really that bad? I sure hope they tighten up security at all buildings, to prevent further horrible crimes of BASE jumping from happening (said with much sarcasm).
I hope your brother is okay, Sue.
Blue Skies,
Josh
So you don't think that Palestinian-Americans are shocked and horrified by this event too? Put them in internment camps?!? That is a very irresponsible thing to recommend or even say. let's not regress back 60 yrs.
I think killing people is fu(ked .But these sick bastards think they are at war with the US and they have killed 10's of thousands of innocent people to stop that war .I remember 2 bombs that were dropped on innocent people in ww2 to stop a war so this is not the first time thousands of innocent people have been killed but I hope it is the last .Days like this make me very glad I live in Australia my heart goes out to anyone who has friends that have been hurt or killed .

Dude, it was an inside job most likely with state support. You don't just hijack 4 planes at the same time operating out of someone's garage. So how do we know who's who? She probably posted before she thought.
Have you never said something you regretted in fear or anger? Have you ever sat for hours and hours with the possibility of a loved one being dead - but not knowing? Give her a break! She admitted she said it in "panic". Maybe she's having to deal with this alone. Have a little compassion buddy.
>Dude, it was an inside job most likely with
>state support. You don't just hijack 4 planes
>at the same time operating out of someone's

I think this is true also.
>So how do we know who's who?
that's right we don't know all the facts yet. Even more reason to not jump to conclusions and irrationality. Locking everyone up won't solve the problem.
> She probably posted before she thought.
Obviously
>Have you ever sat for hours and
>hours with the possibility of a loved one being
>dead - but not knowing?
yes and it sucks. I hope anyone who has family or friends in that area gets the best of news of them being alright.
> Give her a break! She
>admitted she said it in "panic
Panic begets panic. Now is the time for us to band together as a worldwide nation, not the time for more division and hatred.
The U.S does this to there families, buildings and everything else a few times a year. The U.S. also gives Isreal money and weapons. Maybe, someday we can all just respect each other and let people be who the want to be. I don't support in any means the hijacking and the suicide jettings. I hope that you all remember that the U.S. slaughter lots of innocent people in 91'. War is not or friend.
Even though "whoa there" didn't use her real name, she makes some valid points. Stunned or not, we all should try to take the high road and think before we speak or act. Hatred is what the terrorists want. Don't give it to 'em. Make base jumps, not hate. And unless you know for certain that you lost your brother, why not be hopeful instead of bitter?
Sue, I know you were responding in fear and anger. Still, this isn't the time to lash out at anyone except the people who actually did this terrible act.
Hatred - in all of its forms - is what cause this tragedy. Hatred will not make it better. Pictures of cheering Palestinians are hard to watch, but remember that these people have themselves been bombed repeatedly for years - often with U.S. made and U.S. funded weapons. They are responding to hate with hate. Hating them back isn't doing anything but perpetuating the cycle.
Hatred breeds hatred. And desparation breeds inconceivable violence. This is a desperate, deadly death spiral.
For the record, there is no "Palestine.' The Palestinians have no state and are exiled around the world, a situation which clearly breeds radical sects and terrorist violence.
In any case, this has nothing to do with BASE but let's not scapegoat whole groups of people. Those who did this act should be destroyed, but collective punishment isn't going to do that. It would just create more suicidal fanatics.
Peace to all, and best wishes to everyone with loved ones in jeopardy. We called off our jump planned for tonight - both because of fears of being shot off the antenna as suspected terrorists, and out of respect for the victims.

Sue is right. We are in this mess partially because we have not taken our enimies seriously. Bin Laden should have been dead years ago from American lead. The enimies of our country need to be destroyed and this will send a clear message to others that may consider similar actions. Palestine is a rouge nation that publically states its hatred toward America and its willingness to strike. Palestine should be dealt with as the war faring enemy it is. All Palestinian visas should be revoked and thier embassy closed in Washington. That does not mean round up American citizens with Palestinian lineage and putting them in camps, but all non-citizens from countries with ill intentions and those who support and back such countries should be deported. The men who hijacked these planes didn't just fly in from Kabul with Bin Laden emblems on their jackets and go pick up the keys to 767's. They most likely have travel documents to be in the US (maybe forged).
The world has changed forever with this event. We must take our enimies seriously. To quote A Few Good Men... "You rise and sleep under the blanket of freedom and protection (provided by military force) and then question the manner in which it is provided" You don't have the luxary of having freedom without a cost, and that cost is a government willing to use it's military and special forces to kill our enimies before they kill us.
Freedom and libery are not free. There can be no more idealistic dreams about giving in to our enimies and hoping that it will be enough to keep them happy so they will not attack us. This is war.x(
Violence and aggression will only bring more violence and aggression in return...as sad as it might be
