Mr. Jazz, AND THE REST of the posters on this thread of Felix,&and the worst thing about it.....
who´ve seemed that their reading comprehension is gone in relationship to this thread.
Has your ego prevented your comprehension of what I wrote? did I write as you insinuate, "That he has done more for the sport than ANYONE"? If you re read my post with comprehension, you will see that I didn´t write this.

I did use the phrase "No one comes close". as in "And as a sponsored jumper, No one comes close to his success in promoting his sponsor, but the fact that sponsorship is not only possible, but profitable". Did some one come closer? Do you remember the jumper´s name? No??? why not, because I am correct.
I also stated "in the last 10 years", That eliminates Carl Boenish (RIP), ie 2000AD -10 = 1990AD. Gear Manufacturers/instructors, That takes out Moe, Tom (instructor). As for Will and Dave, I think that my Blanket statement did disreguard them unintentionally, These people have done exactly what I was praising, "pushing our sport into the limelight".

If you read and can comprehend my response(s) , "I diagree also with your comprehension"(I wrote it twice for better comprehension), you will see that the problem here is Egotism.
The SA Jumper that whined the most (sorry John), did it around 10 months after Felix jumped a NBJ building because he had appeared on SA TV doing a skydive, recently from a heli, landing on a boat in the sea, near the beach.
So, If You agree with John, it seems that (by my logical comprehension) you agree that the SA jumpers not only own all BASEable sites in SA whether it is an ABJ or NBJ, but also all aircraft, boats, seas, beaches and media coverage of any air sports. Terratoriality is the only reason this (the building jump) was whined about 10 months later. Terratoriality, is a product of the EGO......I wish for you guys to drop your ego and try logic instead....
ps. You left out Dennis among others.

I disagree. I think Charles Bryan has at least come close to promoting Red Bull equally as well, and with less head. Later.

I have never called a news team to the site of a jump, the only reason anybody would is to feed thier EGO but when you only have 90 jumps I guess you have to do something.Other wise your just another 100 jump wonder.Showing the public base jumpers breaking the law is not what I would call helping or doing something for the sport.

"Showing the public BASE jumpers breaking the law" helps the sport according the "Just Spell My Name Right School of Public Relations" doctrine.

It is the principal factor at work when a DZ's student business always increases the weekend after a bounce.

It works because people focus on the skydiving and where it happened, not the fact that there was a fatality.

Ditto for "BASE jumpers breaking the law." As Tom Robbins wrote in his book, "Still Life With Woodpecker:"

Poets remember our dreams. Outlaws act them out."

People are inspired by the jumps, by their daring, by the exhilarating images they create. And seeing it on the news introduces people to the sport, makes it _familiar_ to them -- which is the first step toward public understanding and then acceptance (which then furthers our cause in seeking an end to the discrimination being practed upon us by the Nazi Park Service).

Think about it, 500-jump wonder: How many stories about the jump started with a headline and lead that said "a crime was committed early tuesday when XXX broke the law by jumping from YYY..." ?

    None.

The news stories focus on the jump, on the act itself, and if the illegality is mentioned at all, it's way down in the story.

But you see, young pup, _your_ ego clouds your judgment and hides your own ignorance from you. I mean, your post drips with your superior air that you are just so cool that _you_ would never do something as tasteless and ego-aggrandizing as calling "a news team" to your jump site.

Well, if your cool wasn't in your eyes you would have noticed... neither did Felix: He hired his own crews, part of his operations crew, you know, apparently unlike you, Mr. 500-Jump Wonder, who I'm sure are just soooo cool and accomplished you doesn't even need a ground crew.

And what idiot arrogance. I doubt not a single one of your 500-plus BASE jumps even approaches the gnarly factor of Felix's Jesus jump, the creativity of his Petronas jump, or the preparation and commitment factor of either.

Big deal, so you have 500 BASE jumps. How many of them are multiple jumps from the same objects that you didn't even do first -- that were proven to be doable by others?

How many sites have you piooneered in those 500 jumps?

And how many of those have not been repeated by others?

Felix may have "only" 90 BASE jumps, and yes, he does indeed have an ego (so unlike the rest of us), but at least he isn't an insecure whining web weasel who doesn't have the courage and integrity to put his own name to his posts.

And don't bother attacking me next unless you _do_ find the courage and integrity to sign your real name.

    Love,

    Robin Heid
