Did a two way from a 14à meters antenna. the deal was me pulling first and my friend after me. he saw my pilot shute go away and the he took his pilot shute and gues what, we where open at exactly the same time !

    i had a pilot shute 42 inch and he had a 38 inch ?

My question is: we saw it on video and with a 38 pilot shute its going faster open, so what is happening with all that basic of a 42 inch for low altitude jumps...

    thanks and enjoy your flights

    Hi Stieviboy,
    Here is the possiblities that I can gather from your info;

    a. Your delay was shorter, air speed less, Longer opening...
His delay was longer, air speed more, faster opening.
I have noticed on my 2way jumps with no slider, that opening levels were very close even though one did a shorter delay

    b. pilotchute construction ......
The type of mesh and/or orientation of the reinforcement tapes on the mesh can cause a larger diameter pc to have less drag than a differing constructed smaller diameter pc....
    c. Measuring techniques..
PC´s are measured in the industry by 2 differing standards, One is "Cut", This is the diameter of the material cut for the pc (Before sewing). The other is "finished", the diameter after sewing. with the older construction tech, a 42" (cut) would measure 38-39" (finished)....

    Hope this helps.

I have been thinking about creating a pc drag scale, a common way of measuring the drag of a pc at a certain wind speed so the user could have a table to decide which pc was compatible with the desired performance characteristics......
    any Ideas any one ?

It was me the guy pulling second, and I used a 36" PC. Great visuals, a canopy opening next to you while you are opening. (fortunately both on heading). Should have taken my PC-10. Next time I will only pull at line stretch of the person pulling before me, altitude permitting.

About setting standards for a PC drag scale. Excellent idea. Who will do this? A manufacturer or an independent entity? PIA? Ha, ha, ha.

Hey manúfacturers, your response would be appreciated, Set a standard measuring.....
As far as I know I was the first person to push ZP pc´s for base...(ca. 1990). Amanda built them......

    Hi Ronald,
I respect your acheivements in BASE,
as far as I know, two persons have died as a result of jumping 36´rs from 876´ (Gyrsting)and 520´. the one 520´was a good friend of mine, Jeb Williams RIP `86. What´s up? I don´t understand your logic...
are you trying to push already defined edges?
    can you explain?
maybe you know something I don´t, and I wish to know... I will appreciate your response

    Feel free to contact me.
    take care,
