I only met Earl earlier this year. I went to Moab on several trips over the coarse of 3-4 months and each and every time I enjoyed many jumps with this free-spirited man.
I'll never forgot the time I drove into town and the wind was blowing 40 mph...
We grabbed a 12 pack of beer and drove out to the Labrynth (I had never been there before). As we drank beer, Earl ran up and down the rim like a kid on Christmas morning, showing me a dozen + exit points. All for the love and the excitement of it...
I showed up again in May - unannounced. I found his RV at the Texaco campground and pounded on his door. Even though he had just worked all day on a tour and it was a 100 degrees...he grabbed his rig and we headed out for a sunset load.
Loud and boisterous Earl may have been, but caring, fun and unselfish he certainly was.
Good memories will be engrained forever...
Bluest of skies Earl!
Bryan
