Seems to me that if either of the recent events in Malaysia were successful, the jumpers would have their airline tickets paid for, their accomodations paid for, and what's this about paying for registration anyway. Seems all backwards to me. Who got lots of free advertising? Seems like things need to change around here...

I know it can be difficult, but try to see things differently than we (meaning BASE jumpers) have been for the last 15 years. Take bridge day for example. 300,000 people - all with money - come to watch BASE jumpers and we (the jumpers) pay for all our expenses - even registration.

How many people were at the Petrones towers?

How many people were at the KL tower?

People love to watch BASE jumping!

Ok, let's catch up with other sports and use our competition to gain sponsorship or use our exhibits as advertisment that earns money which pays our way. In other words, let's change our way of thinking from the old BASE jumper mentality of "I'll pay to jump that!"

True, if I were not a poor graduate student, I would probably be out there with you all, (given I was invited).

    JJ

BASE jumping has entertainment value. I agree we should be paid for exhibition. And I too would have gone if I weren't struggling (and if I had been invited!) :(
