Vending Machines Killed 37 People

Between 1978-1995, there were 37 deaths in the US due to vending machine accidents. I saw this on CNN-Headline News this past weekend and read it here: http://thewax.com/currents/dec_vend.html. Therefore, attempting to get a $0.50 can of Coke from a vending machine is more dangerous than BASE jumping.

I say we ban all vending machines from National Parks also....:P

Its all in frequency. A whole ##### bunch more people drink Coke than BASE. They do this in skydiving to justify the risk. DON'T. There is hella risk in both and thats what makes it a rush. Leave my rush alone.

Do you realize how stupid it is to risk your life buying Cokes? I have lost so many good friends to vending machine accidents, people that you would never suspect of such reckless behavior! All of them had families who loved them. All of them thought it was something that only happens to the careless, not to them. I hope you aren't a close friend of mine, because I don't think I could go through another friend's colacide.
Remember: Only dopes, Use coke.

Just renewed my travel insurance with a company that covers BASE jumping. More suprising is the activities they deem to be more hazardous.

Dear COCKsmoker,

Well NO SH*T more people buy Cokes than BASE jump. There is a relevance in my post because BASE jumping started in the same year (1978) and there have been a similar number of deaths in each activity (Approx. 37, give or take a few).

There's always one anonymous a-hole in the BASE world that has to reply like this to posts that were only meant to make you laugh!:P

My travel insurance (Canadian) will cover me for any legal BASE jumps, but not for climbing. So as long as it's legal, they will cover me if I hurt myself falling down a rock, but not if I hurt myself going up it?
