Just wondering if anyone has any good stories about wierd jump concepts. Recently we thought it would be fun to blind fold ourselves, put our hands in our pockets, and lay the pc on the ground (bridge) next to us and then jump. We didn't allow ourselves to take off the blind fold or take our hands out until under canopy. It was scary as hell and totally fun! (Yea, it was a little dumb too but fu(k it!)
Also, last week my good friend Chuck Lowanpull got into a kayak and repelled off the end of his rope while I pc assisted him off the same bridge. He landed perfectly in the river and paddled away like a champ!
You see lots of crazy/stupid ideas at Bridge Day but I was wondering what kind of stories anyone might have.

I like the blindfold idea actually, but once when i was driving through oklahoma, there was a tornado watch on, see, and I got to thinking (painful for a trucker), and so I grabbed my perigee II and mojo, mesh slider, 38 inch av series, parked on the side of the road under an overpass and waited. Sure enough, here she comes, coming around the corner; the finger of god, an F whatever class tornado. I ran up to the top of the overpass as the whirly thing approached; and a comical sight I must have made, dancing this way and then that, trying to gear up and line myself up on the outer incoming edge of this thing. Hopping on one leg trying to get the damn leg strap on, helmet askew, I lucked out in that the tornado was coming down then raising up a bit, and so on such that it was light on the debris side of the equation, and would likely hulf the overpass at a predictable point. The overpass was about 30 ft high on a rise in the otherwise flat plain, see, and had a 2.5 foot concrete railing. Just in time, I shoe-horned my fat unwashed trucker self into the gear, timed it just right as this gray rushing wall hit the bridge, and started to rise up into the sky. I jumped. And started a max track hoping to surf up the rising headwind. I rose like an icbm looking for bin laden, but was getting heavily buffeted, and sandblasted. Steering with my shoulders and arms, I managed to stay on the periphery of the storm, till I realized that the debris level was too high and the turbulence too intense; I tracked out of the cloud like harrison ford running from maturity, and dropped like a stone. In seconds I was swinging from my mojo, having completed either tornadobase 1 or the lowest bridge freefall in history. You decide.&-)

A paraglider pilot constructed a box for his head, mounted a gps, altimiter, etc into it and performed flights purely "on instruments.'

Is there a base analogy to this idea?

A buddy of mine, Lester the Molester, tried this with a round paraglider during a family picnic at Bluffer's Park in Toronto once. He tied off the paraglider to one of those metal hibachis they cement into the ground. The storm, alas was a little to great for him to handle - he was being swept back and forth against the ground, unable to undo his rope. His wife, his brother-in-law and his sister all through themselves on the rope, trying to control it, to no avail. The hibachi began to bend on its shaft. A crowd gathered. After about 15 minutes the canopy came down low enough to the ground someone was able to dive on it and pull it down to collapse - Lester was almost done. He had a lot of roadrash and was semi-comatose. But he'd ridden the storm.

    He hadn't freefalled it tho.:+

Yeah, well the truth is that I heard the guy from Paraguay did this many years ago, at some place called the Punta De Los Fundo Mundos or somethin'. I am sure he can elaborate - he was first of course.
