So, I get's up to the top of this 300 footer, and am thinking, when's my buddy get back? OK, everything's cool. Oh #####, I can't go hand held like planned. It's cool, I looked at that before. It'll work stowed, seen it from videos of ME and MY RIG before, everything's cool. So, I get's the balls, (((My first tower jump))) and,,, decide to launch it. WHEW!!!! big time. huge rush. more than acid. more than shrooms. better than sex (yes I do it right!). WOW!!!
Anyways, the point is, somtimes hand held doesn't always work.

Don't get me wrong, I love going stowed from under 300 feet, and anyway I believe everyone makes their own decisions about what their acceptable level of risk is.

I just think it should be done as a matter of conscious decision rather than as a result of a (usually) mistaken perception that there are no other choices.

You could have climbed back down.

I think real adventure comes from knowing you have these other options, and choosing your own path anyway.
