ok, everybody getting ready for the clock to strike 12? Tonight kicks off another day of 4/20 BASE jumping for anybody interested. only comes once a year, and here it is. so, who's going to be first to flick something this year?

Just curiosity...
Could you please explain why the 20th April is so special? For an American borne? I live in Europe and that date doesn't make a particular meaning to me...

In the U.S., smoking Marijuana is generally illegal. 420 is the police code given to the offense.

So, those who partake have given 420 special significance in this pastime. 4:20 is a traditional time to light up, and 4/20 (April 20th) is something of a holiday. Obviously 4:20 on 4/20 gets double meaning.

Not really useful in a BASE sense (except that some American jumpers use 4-20 as their radio frequency for the same reasons), but still an interesting bit of cultural trivia.

Mr. Walker, to try to anwser your question. I've been spelling since kindergarten, I did graduate 12th grade and have a degree in Business. May I give you a little advice ? Put that paddle away and purchase a motor for your boat, (you can probably find one on e-bay at a very affordable price) motor boats are much quicker than that paddle, but do not, I repeat, do not throw that paddle away in case the motor breaks down ! Also the Jumprers that you pick up will like the moter a whole lot more !;-)
