I am just wondering what number of jumps people took to get all 4 objects..........

Did you wait until comfortable enough for your B and E or looking back did you feel you had almost bitten off more than you could chew when getting those objects............

I think I had 69 when I did my B (the last object of the 4).

I here the guy from Paraguay did it in one jump though.

It was somewhere around 60 for me as well, with the B coming last. It went S, A, E, B for me, over a period of seven years to complete.

    S-E-A-B, about 50 jumps and 2 years.

I waited until I was comfortable for each object... I did my first E (390 feet, legal, overhung, sandstone) with about 30 jumps. When I returned home from that trip was the first time I really felt comfortable with the idea of doing an A. The B followed shortly.

I did the same thing going stowed... Didn't go stowed until around jump 50, from a 480-foot legal span. I was really scared, but I wouldn't say I felt I had bit off more than I could chew.

. . . Not as I do. I got my # on jump 43 with a B, or maybe jump 41 if you count that object as a B. The date was almost exactly 6 months from my first jump, an A. My first stowed jump was jump 3, again an A. My first E was jump 24, an underhung 440 foot masterpiece with a downhill running exit. That was almost exactly 3 months to the day from my first base jump.

The first time I openend an object was on jump #12, an A. That was less than a month after I started jumping.

Ok. . . I'll stop now in the interest of protecting the innocent and, more importantly, the guilty. Don't even ask about my intro to skydiving, ok? Note that the above stats only prove that I am an irresponsible, reckless, hard-to-break canine and nobody in their right mind should take these data and make conclusions that would apply to a sane and rational BASE progression plan.

    Peace,

A 600' cliff was my first, followed by a few 400' cliff jumps.

Next was an antenna, and then a building.

I did a span on jump #100, qualifying me for BASE.

    S: Jump #1, September 1, Object #1
    E: Jump #6, October 10, Object #2
    B: Jump #17, October 19, Object #9
    A: Jump #18, October 20, Object #10

So, 18 jumps, 7 weeks to BASE (as always, thanks to Gowaylow and BASE 509 for the BASE number jump).

Then, I thought I was invincible, and that I could chew a whole lot more.

Now, I wonder what the heck I was thinking.

You made me go get my logbook out...

    S - A - B - E in 13 jumps over 1-1/2 years. My first S was my 66th parachute jump.

I played load organizer and opened my first site on my first A on BASE jump #4 (parachute jump #93). That particular jump was my first night jump and since I was learning to be a rigger, it was the first jump on the first piece of gear that I had built myself - a 45" F-111 P.C.

My qualifying jump was my 123rd parachute jump in May 1993.

    Ahhh... Those were the days...

I was totally freaked on my first base jump and every jump since, the fear keeps self in one piece. I do remember shaking a lot on my first E in Moab. Any new object is a spooky. If your bitting off more than you can chew it's time to walk away and come back when your comfortable. The object will be there when your ready. I would like to thank all my buds and people I've hung with along this strange journey for the help and excitement over the past 2 years. :-)

    First 3 BASE jumps
    NRGB - Oct 13, 1983

    First tower
    BASE jump #4 - May 1st, 1985

    First cliff
    BASE jump #6 - July 21st, 1985

    First Building
    BASE jump #8 - Sept 11, 1985

8 BASE jumps over 11 months.

I had 1065 skydives and a lot of CRW experience before I started, and my BASE qualifying Building jump was my 1181st parachute jump.

My first solo was an antenna on my 9th BASE jump, and after that most of my jumps were solo antenna jumps, though I did go back to NRGB 3 more times, and later started taking a couple of buddies out to an old grain elevator and a smokestack for some nighttime fun....

You guys make me sick. Mick, are you going to allow this reduiculous behavior to go unchecked?

Every post in this thread has named sites and you haven't removed it.

Now everyone in the nation knows we jump from bridges, cliffs, buildings and antennae. They'll be camped out underneath them waiting to bust us.

Tom A, shame on you. Btw, thanks to everyone who offered to take me off a B to get my number.

    #34 1st S double gainer from 810
    #35 1st A gainer from 800

#50 B from 320 over the cops on prom night just as the bars get kicked out with line twists resulting in landing on another building and having to self rescue and run like fu(k. Here's to the best crew in the world.

7 months top to toe. Looking forward to trying skydiving as soon as I build up enough courage to come out of the closet.

I think this highlights some pretty stupid behaviour so please don't copy it.

Be smart.....buy a video camera immediately. Don't wait until jump #37.
