For all of you that was at the Perrine last weekend, I wanted to let you know that I had an awesome time -- thank you!

From everything that I could see, everyone was on their best behavior. I even took some time to talk to various agencies about BASE jumping.

We are still welcomed by the community. The sherrif's office has no complaints. The manager of the visitor center said as of lately, BASE jumpers have been one of the most curtious groups he has ever met.

A local news station ran a 5 minute story on the weekend's activities -- and it was nothing but positive. They mentioned nothing of the accident on Friday and simply focused on the fun being had by all.

When talking to the all of the local agencies in and around the bridge, I asked for clarification on the do's and dont's. This is what I found:

    1. Underneath the bridge is definitely off-limits

    2. They ask that we please refrain from jumping from the rail (no one did last weekend)

    3. Placing a board on the bridge is ok as long as we remove it at the end of the day

    4. Please call the Sherrif's dispatch before you begin jumping for the day and call them once you are finished

    5. Please refrain from night jumps for safety reasons

    6. Packing on top is ok with the Visitor's center (as long as you don't behave like a maniac!)

    7. Packing at Centenial Park is always welcome, but there are a few things that are beginning to aggravate the local groundskeeper. If you use rocks as weights, please return them to where you got them when your done packing. They have to remove the rocks when they mow the grass and on more than one occasion, they didn't see them and it broke the blades on the mowers. Also, no glass is allowed at the park, so bring your beer in cans or keep it hidden out of view.

Overall, BASE jumping's future seems to be alive and well in Twin Falls. They don't ask much of us, so it shouldn't be too hard to preserve this jewel for generations to come.

Tom Sanders and Jason Bell just gave hundreds of dollars in framed pictures to the local community as a token of their appreciation.

How could you possibly show your support? If you are pleased with jumping there, take the time to write a nice thank you letter to the newspaper, the Parks Department, the Visitor's Center, or maybe even the City Council. Expressing your appreciation goes a very long way.

If you go there with a decent sized group, take 10 minutes during your stay to walk around the Visitor Center and pick-up trash in and around the bridge -- let the people inside know that your doing this -- they will appreciate it immensely and your 10 minutes of time will speak greatly of BASE jumpers.

Ok, enough of this feel good tree-hugging stuff -- a 262ft freestander is calling my name!

    C-ya,

    Bryan Stokes
