    Hi,
Last time I was at Kjerag I used a mesh slide but did not use any stows on it. I got very hard openings but they were bang on heading.
I was just wondering what the preferred config is for terminals. Does anyone find that adding a stow on the slider can promote an off-heading?Any feedback appreciated.

    c-ya!

If on heading is a concern for terminal jumps at Kjerag then it seems to me that you have a different and more serious concern to deal with first.

I found at terminal jumps at kjerag, rolling the nose and tying up the slider to the c attachment, helped huge.

If you are worried about off headings at kjerag or any big cliff, ask yourself the question...WHY?

With up to 22 second delays possible w/out suits, what wall are you worried about having a 180 with?

Point taken. Off course Kjerag gives you lotsa time to get big clearance and a 180 with a line twist is no biggy. I only have 3 big wall jumps {all from Kjerag} and on all 3 I managed a decent track and big clearance on opening.

I guess I was referring more to line twists and generally messyer openings than offheadings in particular-my bad:P

So does anyone have any opinions/preferences?

At terminal, I generally use both direct (C line attachment) and indirect (tail pocket) slider control.

I find that this gives me brisk, but acceptable openings under a Vtec FOX. Blackjack (w/ZP) openings are even harder, verging on needing a sail slider for multiple jumps.

I have heard that some people try to slow slider up openings by taking larger folds of the mesh through the direct stow. I haven't used this technique, but I understand that at least one very reputable/knowledgeable jumper has had good success with it.

I have made a combination slider. After a few jumps with a sail slider I realised that it was a wee bit too soft for my liking, and I am a notorious puffter when it comes to hard openings.

So I cut a dinner plate sized hole in my sail slider and sewed mesh there. I still use the rubber band on the C line. And I have a CR 32" PC, don't go bigger than that on terminal jumps.

Per-flare will test it tommorrow on his Vtec on a wingsuit jump. Per-flare is a notorious "don't show pain" kind of guy but even he thought his Vtec was smacking him.

I'll report back when I jump it on a max track terminal jump, say after I scream down the mini secondary talus on Kathammar :-)
