Raven-3 Slider up

OLD Ravens had a tendency to snivel after a few hundred jumps, which led to the manufacturer's requirement that Ravens used as reserves have a bikini slider installed. That was over ten years ago.

Super Ravens, however, have an improved airfoil design using a different fabric finish and are not the same animal. As someone with thousands of skydives and hundreds of BASE jumps on these canopies, my advice would be not to unduly worry, but rather know your particular canopy's history and opening characteristics. If it's still new and crispy, no problem. If it's been exposed to lots of dirt, UV or water, watch out.

No problem with a super raven. I've got quite a few on a Super Raven 4 with the stock slider. Never had a slider problem on 3 seconds or longer.

I put 11 jumps on a Raven-3 then got a Fox and tried to sell the Raven. The raven is sitting unused and was wondering if it is black death to use one slider up. Someone mentioned they had a tendency to snivel. Anyone have any comments?
