Not long ago, someone wanted opinions on a Dagger Canopy. Since I know a lot of people only read this seciton of the BASE Board, I am repeating the review here.
:D
I jumped a demo Dagger size 277 in a Warlock container (2 pin) from Vertigo recently. I made 4 jumps in light winds from 486 feet ;). I weigh 200 naked and I currently own a 310 sq. ft. canopy and a 285 sq. ft. canopy. Jumping a smaller canopy at first concerned me a bit, especially in light winds, but the Dagger really surprised me in a positive way! For the 4 jumps heading was right on and openings were quick (I only jumped it slider down). The canopy was ready to fly right away. The canopy has very nice flying characteristics and I would rate it better than a mojo. The landings really surprised me, allowing stand ups in light winds at a smaller than usual size canopy for me. I put it in a deep sink and it was stable and recovered well. Its forward speed and glide seemed good, again right in there with any of the other BASE parachutes. Vertigo has some unique features, like built in tie downs for sliders on the front risers, just in case you belong to the tie down club vs. the remove the slider club. The harness was comfortable and the container did its job great (I am not a picky person when it comes to details, but their tie die containers are kinda nice). I want to get a bigger canopy to replace my 285, and the Dagger is now a serious option. Rather than repeat the info on the Vertigo Web site, I refer you to that site on your own. It is at:
