    What is this about:

    http://www.executivechute.com/products.htm

Destiny Aircraft is the company that owns an ultralight company and is selling these parachutes. Any more information about who is making them on thier behalf?

Looks like some greedy S.O.B. is trying to make a
quick buck off the misforturnes of our Nations recent tragedy. However he does have a point to some degree. Take for example the Gentleman photograghed leaping to his death from the upper floors of the W.T.C. (Rest his sole) He theroicaticllly may have been saved by such a device. But... do we want 500 people bailing out of the side of a deteriotaing building? Remember, there are plenty of people on the groud also.

Who is making the container? How do you deploy the chute? Do they have the approval of the FAA?
Has Mister Exchute ever jumped from the top of the Sears Tower with a round? Has he ever jumped anything?

These are just my Two cents worth. I feel the idea has some merit but certainly needs to be researched and monitored before it gets out of hand? As for Base? It could help us, or it could kill us?

Notice the B jump on their website. Looks like a square to me. Certainly not the "Jello Mold" round they advertise.

    Has anybody called them?

Well, the FAA wouldn't be concerned, just like they are not concerned with BASE gear.

Looks like the "greedy S.O.B." syndrome to me. People like those Executivechute bastards should be shot.

I called the bastards. They are selling an undefineable round parachute that is made in Israel. Small, medium and large. It has not been tested in the advertised arena for it's use. The clown I talked to, a Mr. Charlie Brown (no foolin'), stated that the parachute has already saved many lives in the aviation industry, as well as paragliding. It comes pre-packed, with a training video for $800. It will be a static-line deployment. Charlie Brown said I would not hit the building. He also said the heat from the fire would not be a problem. He also said it was legal. He's sending me all documentation and brochure information, it should be interesting. This whole idea is a scam, we all know the odds of being caught in a burning building are about a billion to one.

    Excerpt;

    Is there training available?

Absolutely. You are not going skydiving and this is not intended to be used for recreation, so training is fairly simple. This may be accomplished via video, classroom or both. Training will consist of, but is not limited to, site evaluation (egress locations), sizing, how to evaluate when you must jump, jump preparation and chute deployment. Large classes can be scheduled for companies wishing to have this training on location. (Only simulations will be accomplished during training. No actual jumps are done. Anyone choosing to take skydive training is encouraged to do so.)

This where Our experience can help, whether to denounce or to make the idea more applicable. I would suggest having an open mind, even though most of the pages are under construction implying to me that this is s.o.b. trying to cash in...
This type of reserve (PDA) is normally designed to have supplemental drag (paragliderTrashed,Hanglider trashed etc.) to arrest the descent rate. sink rate and stability can be proven. an investigation is in order. and then if need be, take it up thru the proper channels.
    JMHO,
take care, and donīt be so quick to jump on the flame train, think for yourself..

    Me again PK...

There was a VERY competent Golden Knight by the name of Charlie Brown so don't be too quick to ridicule.

The parapente world has had emergency chutes that deploy in fractions of a second for many years and have numerous saves. Ask Tony Dominique at Square One about the technology.

Scam or not, they're free to offer it to the willing or interested public.

So in this age of internet free speech, how do we counter this imbecilism? By going to the Media? It seems that this could be an interesting story for them.
    just a thought,

Golden Knight ( a prefer to refer to them as Tax dollar wasting worthless to the general public government employees x() or not they are still trying to make a quick buck on an American tragedy. Even the web site is totally miss leading. They show a ram air canopy in a city setting not a round. All golden knights should be humping a ruck and low crawling through the sand right now.

have a go way low day (}>)(:*)
