bridal attachment

What is the generally preferred method of attaching the pc/shrivel flap bridal to the canopy attachment ring? I've seen/heard of it with a connector link attachment, and also connected via larkshead knot. Is one way better than the other?

For Consolidated Rigging canopies, the vendor specifically states that the bridle should be larksheaded to the fabric loop at the canopy attachment. Nothing should be attached to the ring, as it is only a bag stop for a deployment bag. Don't know about other vendors canopies.
