    Hello,

Yesterday we jumped an A of 110m high. It was around 12km/h wind in our back, one of the friends had a 180+twist after a delay of 2 sec. stowed. Could it be from the wind even if he s from behind?

Just a second question : He's packing his canopy when putting it in the harness as large as the tailpocket is and not the harnas so pretty small.

Could this cause an off heading? The larger the better for the center cell?

    Thnkx in advance guys,

    Ghosty

There is almost no way to know for sure what caused the 180. But yes, a very large tail pocket packed deep in to the corners of a small rig could be a snag point. If you have video it may confirm this, but you never really know. A dropped shoulder could cause the same opening with line twists as well.

I would say that generally a tailwind will encourage off-headings, but on a 110 m object with a 12 km/h tailwind, I really don't think that was a big factor.

When I read your posting, I interpreted it to say that your friend is packing his canopy very narrow... I don't see this being a real problem, either. I pack slightly narrower than the tailpocket and have never had a problem with that specifically. I do have my center cell spread around the whole first fold of the packjob, and back about 4 inches around the edges even.

If your friend is packing wide, as a previous poster suggested, there might be a problem with a snag point. However, it sounds like there's not really enough information to back up any one theory, so it's a bit of a "witch hunt" trying to figure out what went wrong unless there's video or something.
