We just got a call from Don from Snake River Canyon Tours, reminding us that they will be providing the BBQ in the park for the Memorial Day Boogie. Don was wondering if we'd seen any posts on the BASE Board of about how many people would be up there this year. Any takers?

Additionally, Basic Research will be sending staff to the Bridge with a bunch of FLiK canopies for jumpers to demo. If you've heard about the FLiK and was wondering what all the fuss is about, this is the time to see and fly one for yourself! The FLiK is the sweetest BASE parachute out there, and once you try one you'll know why we say that.

Wow...I'm kind of surprised at the lack of response to the Twin Falls Memorial Day bash. Are so few people actually going to go? Or are people just staying tight-lipped?

Bert and Don were wondering about the amount of people in order to provide a good BBQ. Now it seems there might be a dance party as well. Still no interest? Y'ALL ARE MISSING OUT!

7 months grounded from a broken pelvis (4 places) local "A" 2;00AM
no moon didnt see that damm branch 25-30 ft to the pavement (ouch)
any way walkin good and ready to jump. cant think of a better time or place to get back in the saddle.hope to see as many of you as poss.

Organizing BASE jumpers is like herding cats. Actually, it's even more complex. Last weekend Yuri and I developed a quantitative model for measuring the relative difficulty of organizing a BASE load.

The degree of difficulty of organizing loads increases exponentially with the number of jumpers on the load. As a BASEline (ha ha), we set complexity for one jumper at 1. Thus, two jumpers is 2 exp(2) complexity, or 4.

By 7 or 8 jumpers, the numbers are getting quite large. Eventually, the resulting curve is near-asymptotic.

Point being? Folks will show up over Memorial Day weekend. How many probably mostly depends on weather. I'd guess at 20-40 but what the heck do I know?

Oh, and there's confirmed talk of an outdoor gathering/party for Sunday nite the 25th. Details are sketchy, but likely components include speakers, turntables, a generator, music, and fun. Details will be posted using 2048 public key encryption and invisible ink at the Dog Den, http://www.wrinko.net, codename "Freefall Free-For-All." Mark your calendars, yo!

I am trying to find the name of a super cheap motel in Twin Falls that was recommended in one of these threads around Labor Day 2002. It was like Holiday or something but NOT the Holiday Inn. I tried to find a phone number on the web and didn't have any luck ...
