    Hi Guys,

Can you have a look at a project I'm working on at the moment and let me know what you think:

    http://www.BASEnumbers.org/

I'd be very grateful if you could supply any information. You don't need to provide any personal information, but it would be handy in case I need to contact you about changes to the website or any conflicts with the information. I assure you that your identity will remain confidential. But if you don't want to, then that's ok too.

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or flames.

    Very cool.
I was wondering when someone would graph BASE jumpers.
Looks like an exponential curve to me....gulp.
My only comment would be to add a "smoothing" function or at least a formula for the current curve so you can see how many whuffos will become real BASE jumpers in 10 or 20 years.

Heh... Very cool. I don't have my information handy at the moment, but I'll get it together and add myself to your data.

Possibly the only thing cooler than a number (and video) is a compilation of numbers!! :+

Can anyone help with the maths for that?

Thanks Michael. I'd appreciate that. I found your's and Erika's qualification date in a previous post (5th of July 2001?) but no numbers.

Indeed, a testament to the growing geekiness amongst BASE jumpers? :-)

Just wanted to say thanks to those who have taken part so far since quite a few have elected not to provide any names or contact info (although I think I know who some of you are! ;-) ) so I'm not able to tell you directly.

I forgot to say in my intitial post, that I'm especially keen for those with numbers between 200 and 400 (qualifying between 1988 and late 1994) to provide some information, since I'm quite lacking and only have a handful of entries. Please feel free to tell anyone you know with a BASE number to take a look at the site, especially in this range, and provide info.

    Thanks again,

    Craig

Have you considered asking RH? He might be willing to just shoot you a big chunk of data without the pertinent personal identifiers.

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to give this post a bit of a bump to bring it back to everyone's attention for a while. There are now 77 entries in the database which is approximately 9% of the known issued numbers. We've got a pretty good spread, and thanks to the British contingent with a nice early batch. Actually, according to the information that I have at the moment, the Brits dominate the issued numbers! That can't be right can it? Submit you info and level up the sample! I still have a bit of a gap from mid-1988 to early-1993 (numbers 250-350 range) which could certainly do with being filled in a little? If you have some time over the holidays whilst visiting home, please take a moment to dig out your logbooks and fill in your details, or encourage others to do so. If you supply your info, you will get access to some interesting demographics. I'm also looking forward to hearing about any new numbers as I haven't seen any for a while.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. Wishing you a flicking good holidya season.

    Craig
