So what did you _really_ like about it?

What did you _NOT_ like about it?

    Was it fast enough?

    Was it easy enough?

Very nice. I've never had a problem with speed and posting, so can't comment there. I'm a sucker for looks, though, and I really like the fact that the new board doesn't have that "text and more text" look...

I like the forum layout. vBulletin makes a good forum software product. vBulletin's style seems to be more common with other websites than the style that Blinc has currently been using.

As for speed, I have the same problem with the new forum as the current forum.

It appears that all of the Blinc graphics (header, BASE Tools list, ads) load very slow. When the forum piece loads up, it loads fast, and the rest of Blinc graphics continue to load.

So from my perspective, the new forum software didn't make a difference for speed.

Everytime I click a link, at the bottom of my browser I can read the status "Opening page 67 items remaining...". It loads slow, and everytime I refresh the page, the process repeats itself, and it reloads at the same slow speed. If I go to a site like "starwars.com", the status bar says "opening page 82 items remaining..". The page loads at approximately the same speed as Blinc. However, if I refresh the "starwars.com" site, it reloads nearly instantly.

    A disturbance in the Force?

I agree with Jason. I've never had a problem posting, not that I've done it alot, but regardless. I do like the new look. Thanks alot Mick.

I hope everyone likes the new forum. It has heaps of new features, and optimizations.

    NOTE:
    =====
All existing users where imported into the new forum, but zero (0) passowrds where imported. So everyone with an existing account must go to http://www.blincmagazine.com/forum_n....php?do=lostpw to retreive a new password. There is NO way around this.

And, with almost 1,500 users, I can't manuall update your password for you. So please help me out on this one.

I agree with Zoomee, loading the Blinc-graphics, the link-bar and the base-tools takes the most amount of time. The forum itself loads very quickly. I spent the winter abroad and had only a modem dial-up connection. I ended up not looking at blinc because it took so long to load, especially because all those items are reloaded everytime you refresh the page, for ex. by reading another thread. Now that I'm home again I have my broadband-connection back and I'm checking blinc again, but even with that connection it takes a couple of seconds.
The new forum is very nice - I like it a lot better than the actual one. Better view and feel, better overview, super-easy navigation.
    Thanks for working on it.

I am going to look into this as soon as I move the forum. I need to address 1 thing at a time.

I am really puzzled though. I have removed the Javascript from the page, so there are far fewer graphics now.
