    Norway

Where some of the most amazing sites exist, where egos DO NOT exist, the only money spent and made is on Bilkot and Batkort tickets and the NBA, some of the most amazing sites DO exist, some of the most talented BASE jumpers temporarily reside, video and still photo footage is traded freely (for the most part) and most importantly - politics DO NOT exist.

If BASE jumping is meant to be fun for you, then come on over. If you are in the business of making money or boosting your ego, do us all a favor and go somewhere else.

And feral, where are you, not in Norway, yet...

    JJ

Im with you guys, dam the parasites who paint themselves as Base jumpers, and, worse, our "leaders". Its all about fun and friends, free access, and no money. Isnt it typical though that once again Robin Heid is at the very center of huge messes, controversy, and lengthy diatribes on the board. Worms can eat petronas et al.

    Hey Couer d'Weasel:

I made my first base jump with Carl Boenish while you were still shittting your diapers... and I still make BASE jumps today that would have you shitting your pants.

It's real easy to be brave and nasty and oh so ignorantly cool when you don't have the cojones to identify yourself, you pathetic little worm.

Maybe you're one of those new secret Petronas "technical directors."

Feral buddy, I love your spirit but you a SUCH a sook sheila sometimes.

So we try to make a buck for all the WORK we do i this area. That is what defines a PROFESSIONAL, which is a term with you obviously have no experience.

So tell me, feral darling, do you expect BR and CR and Vertigo to provide your BASE gear free of charge too... y'know, good ol' Adam $$$$ Filippino and Anne He$$$iwell and Marta Empino$$$i are just a bunch of hungry (unts too I suppose.

What a barro berk you were with this one, sheila.

But I love ya 'cause at least ya got the gonads to post your name (even if you can't remember your camera batteries) but no worries: An Aussie salute on ya, mate, and make one for me while you're in Norway. Jeez, when I think of the trips and jumps I coulda made instead of trying to do something good for BASE, it just makes me want to Technicolor yawn, yaknowaddamean?

    Love,

    Robin

Is this the very same JJ who criticized jumpers at Petronas and Menara KL for not CHARGING the companies in question for their services?

Is this the very same JJ who lives with a women whose sole source of income is making money from BASE jumpers and BASE jumping?

I guess according to your statement, Anne Helliwell should do all that work every year on those trips and do it for FREE huh?

The thing I find most amazing is how all you people are still alive after nmakingt so many base jumps with your heads planted so firmly up your sanctinmonious assses. I mean, how do you know when to pull and which was to face for landing?

Well, I don't really know the rest of these guys, so I can't say anything about them. But I had the pleasure of meeting Tom Sanders at a bridge in Idaho a little while back, and he seemed like a really pleasant guy. So I'm a little confused why you're cutting him down just because he makes money from his photography.

Maybe you can explain to me how you put food on the table. From the sound of things, you know a way to do it without taking money from anyone, otherwise that would make you a hypocrite, wouldn't it?

You know Robin, your the REAL whining web weasel.

You appear to be a whining, little punk.

I guess you must be so cool after making 250-300 BASE jumps over the last 20 years. Sounds to me like your the real 300 jump wonder that you so proclaim other people to be.

I hope I do run into you on an exit point some day. Your a BASE jumper, so for that part, your somewhat cool. But as a person, I'll spit in your face.

Now let me get this straight, Little Man Ha Ha: I'm a whining punk becuase I insist on a professional standard when we are dealing with the corporate world, and defend the rights of individuals to make money for being professionals at what they do, and call to account those who make absurdly ignorant and/or hypocritical statements related thereto, and point out that my experience is not in numbers but "time in service" plus the types and character of the objects I've jumped.

You sound a lot like one of those 300-jump limp diks who has inflated numbers because they do perrine over and over and over and over again, and, like most of the people who flame me on this board, you were still shitting your diapers and puking on Mom's shirt while I was pioneering this sport along with a whole bunch of other people you don't deserve to stand on ANY exit point with.

The magnitude of your ingratitude is a beatitude to ponder... along with your utter cowardice in being willing to say your name.

Little man indeed is the one so terrified of his own shadow he won't even say his own name in public. Of course, if you did, you'd have to change your diapers again.

If I ever meet you on an exit point, I'll walk away and find one more challenging and less wanker-infested.

The politics for this event seems to be in America, not KL which is 10,000 miles away. So good, keep the politics there.

Interesting comment that Norway is so more relaxed, but beware as the same politically fucked up base jumpers will no doubt be in Norway soon proclaiming the throne of gravity.

No one has a monopoly on gravity, or the air I breathe. Fuck u if I or anyone else wants to jump Petronas.Any downtown building jump anywhere that gets fucked up will be high profile, and we all have jumped buildings in our time, so whats the difference.

If things in SE Asia arent done the way a group of so call American base leaders want to do it, so be it, it aint your back yard.

Geoff: YOu make some good points from the standpoint of bandit base culture, but that attitude is self-destructive when you have a corporation and a national government welcoming us to their country and inviting us into their buildings.

    That is the difference:

In one case, we're outlaw pests.

In the other case, we're honored guests.

We're also guests whose conduct reflects on the reputation of our hosts.

The biggest problem I had at Petronas was keeping a certain few of my fellow honored guests from acting like outlaw pests.

The biggest problem Malaysia had with Menara KL was too many honored guests actually being outlaw pests.

Now, it's important to stress that your "fuck u if I or anyone else wants to jump Petronas" is a perfect summation of the fundamental premise of outlaw pests.

This is PRECISELY the premise that cannot be tolerated or accepted by our community during an invitation load -- any invitation load.

If you want to try your hand on a Petronas bandit jump, go for it.

Just not during the time we are INVITED GUESTS.

You know, I really wonder where you get the attitude that you can treat a host -- any host -- with such utter rudeness.

Maybe you just don't get the fundamental, VITAL difference between a bandit jump and an invitation load.

An invitation load means you are an honored guest, and you should act as such.

You take only what is offered and you say "thank you" instead of "fuck you."

I mean, c'mon, Geoff, it's basic good manners, and if you're a "fuck you" outlaw pest (FYOP) at Petronas, then that reflects badly not only on the rest of the BASE community but on Petronas as well.

Why should BASE jumpers let people - other BASE jumpers and whuffos - who exploit them make money off of them? BASE jumpers who make gear for BASE jumpers with the intention of making the sport safer deserve to make the tiny profits they do. Just my opinion... and maybe a little more specific.

Maybe Anne should make the gear for free. If she did, then I would actually have money to spend on other things. And if her expeditions were free, then I would be able to get more BASE jumps. Not a bad idea...

Maybe you should just stop talking out your ass, no wait, I'm glad you do, I like the entertainment. When you post, I always get a good laugh. Thanks Robin.

You're welcome, James, and thanks for including your full name to clear up my confusion.

Anne's JJ: Glad to see the post was NOT made by you, as I was wondering how you could have take such complete and utter leave of your senses.

Wow Robin -- you crack me up!

I don't doubt that you've done any challenging jumps and I imagine that you have pioneered jumps in the past and present, but gosh, get off your high horse man! In fact, if you started jumping in the late 70's early 80's then in fact you were jumping off fixed objects before I started getting hard ons from my 6th grade teacher. But it doesn't make you any cooler.

A man's or woman's grandeur in the sport of BASE jumping comes from admiration or respect from fellow jumpers. It comes from your attitude, your approach, your style, and the image you portray.

Quite frankly, I find nothing admirable in your attitude when your ranting and fuming.

Robin, your an excellent, eloquent writer when you want to be. Why can't you direct these wonderful skills in a positive manner more often rather than ranting and raving like a freaking lunatic? I'm not arguing against the points your trying to make, rather your delivery style. If it didn't carry such a sick, negative tone, you might find yourself more effective in your cause.

And please, get off your high horse. I've actually pioneered many radical jumps...some of which are in your very own backyard. But you know why I did it? For my own self-exploration and love of this wonderful sport. Not to rub it in people's faces.

But hey, that's what little, insecure people usually do to stand taller.

Later, I've got better things to do.
