i would like to warn any and all who might associate with robin hide, be careful! He has started a malicious rumour that jumpers were arrested in KL for illegal base jumping. He has repeatedly called my PO and has tried to have me put in jail for illegal base jumping in KL. my PO called the US embassy in KL and had them launch an investigation to see if there was any illegal base jumping activity etc. there was none. this is the kind of person robin heid is. turning base jumping and jumpers over to the law. for this there is no excuse period. no matter what disagreements robin may have with me gives him no right to go to my PO and lie to him in an attempt to have me put in jail for 6 months. again this is the kind of person robin heid is. be careful he has shown his true character again and again.

It's been getting harder and harder to tell who the good guys are anymore with all the BS being thrown around. If this post is true however, I think we may have the answer.

Any proof to back this stuff up? Otherwise it's just more abusive assertions in the continuing Robin vs Dennis/IBPC smack down.

Inquiring minds want to know the truth so we know who to avoid at the exit point.

I just called him to do my monthly check in and got slammed.there is no excuse for what robin has done.
this is even worse than him canceling my ticket home and not telling me, which ended up stranding me in Singapore and having to purchase a one way ticket home on the spot. that ticket was mine.(PO phone number was removed by request to Mick Knutson) I did my job for him at the patronas event and then he burned me for going to the KL event
robin has no honor or conscience. he also has no limit to what he will do to base jumpers or anyone else that opposes him.
it is a free world, all i am saying is if you have dealings with robin heid be careful.he burned me harder than i have ever been burned in my entire life.

Yes, Craig, one and the same, and it truly is a bummer because THE primary reason I invited Dennis to participate in the Petronas jump was as a further reward for the work he has done on behalf of BASE both with the IPBC and through his fight with the National Park Service.

Part of that invitation involved contacting his probation officer to get permission for him to leave the country for the project (the average federal probationer must surrender his passport during the term of probation -- in this case, five years).

I made the request and Dennis was granted permission to leave based on numerous promises made by him to me, my partners, his probation officer and the United States government about his personal conduct while in Malaysia under my aegis and that of SkyVenture Productions.

Unfortunately, while Dennis did in fact do a good job on the Petronas demo both as the dive choreographer and individual jumper, his post-event behavior violated those promises and included other conduct I will not recount or characterize here other than to say he not only discredited himself, he embarrassed me, my partners, the BASE community and his country.

I will not address his above comments either, other than to say that most people who were in Malaysia for KL Tower Day know exactly how credible some of those statements are, and that anyone reading this thread who knows Dennis and appreciates his past accomplishments should encourage him to handle this in a more productive and less public way.

The BASE community has just experienced a spectacular month of success that is still generating positive outcomes worldwide and all of us should be focusing on that.

Kinda curious that you wait almost four years to voice an objection to a story I wrote, but since it's still fresh in your mind, suppose you tell us all what inaccuracies you're talking about.

Certainly I've mis-reported things over the years, try as I might to avoid that, and there are times when the people I interview are not as forthright as they could be either.

If I made a mistake in that article four years ago, I'm sorry about that, but it seems to me you could find a little more polite way to discuss it, as I had no dog in that fight and simply reported the facts as they were told to me by several of the participants.
