Dear NPS murderers:
A year ago at this time, Frank Gambalie III was already dead, chased to his death by rabid junior Nazis pursuing a policy promulgated by a pervert and preserved by pukes playing politics with the truth.

I hope you're proud of yourselves. Who are you going to kill next? And I might also add: Who else is going to be murdered like those four women last year, who died because you guys are so busy chasing and propagandizing on national television about BASE criminals that there's no time or resources left to actually do real law enforcement work?

And, you know, some of you are nice guys and I know you personally, but this "Vee are juss doingk ouur jobzz... vee are jusss followingk orrrderzzz" crap supposedly went out with the Third Reich.

So in honor of Frank and to cleanse your own souls, what say you start looking the other way when you see a BASE jumper, or having something more important to do when the call comes in that one has been spotted? In the real world of law enforcement, this is called "prioritization," and if your alleged superiors can't spell this word, much less understand it, then it is UP TO _YOU_.

If you do, your spot in heaven may reappear. If not, you'll probably get to join the NPS patron St. Adolph and all of his Nazi pals at that eternal weenie roast under the dirt.

I respect all you've done for the cause, but this kind of inflammatory message really doesn't help the folks who do sympathize with us (example, the three yosemite park rangers who stayed at my house last night, and who I'm going to the park with today).

Instead of insulting them in public forums, perhaps we ought to just become their friends, hang out with them, do other things with them (most of them are climbers, I've found), and then QUIETLY encourage them to rethink their position (personally or as an institution).

Posturing and extreme rhetoric don't really appear to be working. Perhaps a more "person to person" approach is called for?

Making friends is usually a more effective lobbying tool than making enemies.

I cannot possibly add to or improve what you posted. Get a clue Robin, you are part of the 20 year problem that keep's BASE out of Yosemite. If your not part of the psylution, your part of the problem.

It's only slander when it's not true.. and I have 20 years of documentation to back up everything I say.

And while I do appreciate your identifying yourself and offering your views, I think you'd be better served if you would reflect upon your own role in the Gambalie negligent homicide... as the onld saying goes: The only way evil triumphs is for good men to do nothing.

If you feel slandered, it is because you see yourself as a good man and not a murderer or a mindless, soulless bureaucrat who spits on the U.S. Constitution because you think it makes your job easier.

And if you are indeed the good man you perceive yourself to be, then you should get off that good ass of yours and start doing something proactive to end this continuing crime your agency is visiting upon us.

And writing denunciations about me is not what I mean, especially when they are unsupportable by the facts.

FOR EXAMPLE, suppose you cite even _one_ example of my "senseless ramblings" if you can. Date, post, and subject, with an explanation of what you think is senseless.

We might all be better served, though, if you would spend that time exploring the senseless ramblings of policy and procedure that have killed and injured considerably more BASE jumpers than your amoral agency has ever protected.

While your total fixation with Scott Connelly and the Nazi Party are worthy of comment, that's something better left to you and your therapist.
Although I realize that while you are a vociferous albeit demented soldier in the cyberwar for legalization of the your "sport", you no longer have the stomach to jump in Yosemite. I guess you decided leave the real work of publicly displaying your cause to others.
If you used your obvious talent in the written word for positive change, you might have brought your fellow jumpers closer to their goal...but no...more's the pity.
Let me just say that I, for one, will zealously continue to pursue EVERY parachute I see and arrest EVERY jumper I find, just on the slight chance that YOU may actually be the one at the L.Z.

P.S. To all you conscientious and respectful jumpers out there....don't give up hope. With hard work and CONSTRUCTIVE dialog, you may still see your goal come true. Did the NPS push Frank in the river? Nope. Did Frank know that he was breaking the law? Yep. You break the law, you take your chances, so cut the crap, he killed himself with a poor decision to jump illegally and then run when busted.
The NPS did not make him jump and the NPS did not make him go into a rushing river.
Stupid or calculated decisions can kill you.
IT does not matter if he was being chased, he broke the law, simple as that. Until that law is changed, the NPS had every right to chase him, or did the NPS go to jail? I don't think so.

B.A.S.E. jumping is not illegal in the national parks. Stop letting them tell you that it is. Ariel delivery with out a permit is illegal. They have pigeon holed us into a law that has been around sense the early 40s that in its inception had nothing to do with our sport. Look into the law they use to punish us. My lowers sure have and we are already planning a lawsuit that will bring this lame battle to an end. By the end of this war many park service workers will be fired and most of the gear that has been stolen will be returned :) The case will be paid for by a group of sponcers that are going to make a documentary about the whole process. Showing how there are still battles for freedom even in a country that calls its self the land of the free. Just sit back and watch, the fun is about to truly begin :)

The NPS policy on BASE jumping is based on lies, false information, discrimination, bigotry and the misplaced use of force -- which you confirmed with your declaration that you will use that policy (along with your badge and gun and jail and courts) to satisfy a personal grudge against someone who is excercising his First Amendment right to to speak freely about his dissatisfaction with his government's conduct. Of course, you probably never heard of the First Amendment, as it is part of the U.S. Constitution, which is obviously not part of the NPS ranger training curriculum, or anything its policymakers have ever read, much less understand.

You remind me not just of Nazis: Your missive is pathetically slavish and rote in mirroring the words and attitudes of Bull Connor and his racist minions down Montgomery Alabama way a few decades back. In case you flunked American history along with civics class, Bull was the cop who wouldn't tolerate "uppity niggahs" demanding their rights, but praised all the "conscientious and respectful niggahs" who kept their mouths shut and bent over as ordered.

One thing you are right about: I don't have the stomach to jump in Yosemite right now, any more than I would want to camp in a trash dump.
