Made 8 flights with my GTI suit from exit points 4, 5 and 6 last week. I was consistently at or above 30 seconds - I think 6 were 35 seconds or better. I hit my personal best on a flight from exit point 4: Flew out beneath exit points 5 and 6, then turned right and headed for the landing area. My ProTrack read 42 seconds, but my helmet mounted video camera recorded 41. Breaking the "40 second barrier" was a cool feeling! I think that was on my 10th BASE Bird-man flight. (Did 4 off Brento before coming to Norway)

I'm sure this is far from a record, but I wondered what kind of times others had experienced there? If you reply please list the type of suit you have.

    Thanks.

    Mark

I did my first BirdMan BASE there at Brento, same time as you.
I think it was a great spot to learn BASE exits with the GTI.
I did 6 off it, my best time at Brento was 26.
We went to the Eiger, I got 31 seconds, my 7th BirdMan BASE jump.
I got my personal best slow speed that jump too, down to 49.

In case anyone is interested, I've posted the video on PilotDave's FTP Site:

    ftp://ftp.skydivingmovies.com

I named it KjeragBirdmanLongFlight.avi and it is in the upload directory as of this posting.

    Mark,

Look at www.bird-man.com and you will see a list of people making the MINUTEMAN with wings. The list is form last year's adventures and I did 01:17 this year and my Team mate did alot more ;) but I'm sure he like to tell the time him self.

I did use a Skyflyer on my flight :)

Is it not funny what numbers do to you? it is a funny game to play and I can't wait to be a double MINUTEMAN ;)

    And the question remains:

Who will be the first American to join the ranks of these accomplished Birdmen?

    Anyone in position?

First American just kind of sounds silly, but whatever. This month there may be some new BASErs with some large delays off some big rocks.
Good luck JJ and R.T., use all of it!
    First Americans? Maybe.

Hey Mark, I think you should keep checking that gps....ha ha.

True, it may sound silly. But it is worth noting that Birdmen outside of the United States are generally more experienced.

Most people aren't in it for the record books, but it is fun to play with numbers, especially when it comes to wingsuits.

    Cheers.

Mark was kind enough to send me the exported ProTrack data and I've made them available online [link:www.jumptrack.com/WebJumpTrack_ui.asp?id=1&db=MarkSheehan&Speed=mph& Altitude=feet&Airspeed=TAS|here] and [link:www.jumptrack.com/WebJumpTrack_ui.asp?id=2&db=MarkSheehan&Speed=mph& Altitude=feet&Airspeed=TAS|here]

It's not quoite right, the maximum speed is peaking off my nuts, no sorry, I mean off the graph and there's a spurious line that comes back across the graph but you get the idea.

The server on which these links reside is a bit flaky. Please let me know if you have problems accessing them!

I never jumped Kjerag, but i just started wing-flying.
The walls i have jumped is from 400meters walls 1000 meters down to landing area, to 700 meters with 1000 meters to landing. I now have a total of 5 jumps, all from cliffs, and all flights have been between 30-40 sek. These cliffs are wery positive from 400 meters and down, so you really got the feel of flying low ower the terrain.
When in Norway, ##### Kjerag, there are houndreds of cooler and better cliffs all over.
