    Mesh or Sail?
I much prefer mesh over sail. I have over a 100, terminal BASE jumps (9sec+) and will only use mesh.I tried using my sail on my Mojo in Norway a few times, but find the snivels to be too long. The mesh openings are quick and snappy but more than bearable. I've had alot of harder openings on skydiving canopies. I love the ground rush of terminal jumps, and when I dump at 400 ft at terminal I want a FAST reliable opening, which is what mesh gives me. A sail slider, is nice if you have plenty of altitude and want to deploy high, but if you want to maxamize your freefall go for the mesh.

    crwper,

Didn't I see you in Norway last year making terminal jumps? Is this the same Michael?

Anyway, small hole mesh is the ##### for terminal! Sets you up in a vertical position, then gives you a quick and firm opening that is easy on the neck, and body...

But, for you Tom I would suggest an F111 sail - maybe even with a coffee can size hole cut in the center - but we can do that here if you like...

By the way Tom, how is your out of shape ass gonna make it up the hill here in Norge??? Especially after sitting around broken for two months. We aint gonna wait for ya...

    cya in August...

I think you've got the wrong guy. You're thinking my French-speaking compatriot.

The break lines are the primary force that drive the slider down. This occurs though stages of cell pressurization and tail inflation. The slider will of course experience drag during its descent. With a hole in the center, you reduce the drag but do not contribute much to assisting cell pressurization or tail inflation. Consider cutting vents in both the front and back of the slider, for more consistent heading performance. Sounds like the bikini slider doesn't it? I haven't tried it (my disclaimer so take everything skeptically) but will be having one made soon because I do almost exclusively terminal jumps soon and there are taking their toll. I would prefer a slight alteration from the bikini slider, such as bikini and mesh. I just don't like big gaping holes in my slider. But I still refuse to jump with a full sail slider.
