In the history of Kjerag to July 29th 2002 there has only been one individual to out-track the talus at Smellvaggen - and that was Christopher McDougal -with a 25.9 second delay and a 16 second canopy ride.
As of July 29th at approximately 7:00 pm history has changed. After working out the details with our boat crew including a cutaway before hitting the water, a jump to out-trackk Smellvaggen was planned by one Robert Kelly of Santa Cruz CA.
The jump went as planned and attempted because Kelly is a SUPER tracker due to his general softness and his skinny white bodyof about 150 pounds with 5 feet 10 inches of height.
Kelly easily out-tracked the talus. He then proceeded to cut away from the canopy as instructed before hitting the water. Unfortunately, Kelly imsjudged the cutaway and hit the water after slightly over 2 seconds of freefall from approximately 20 meters.
Today Rob Kelly is fine and will resume jumping tomorrow or the next day!
