leaving in Norway

I will not have an opinion on what to do in Amerika!
But coming to let say Norway were BASE is mostly legal, please consult local jumpers in this matter!
We have ONE illegal wall in N (the Troll) Here we had a tragic axident in 99 where the jumpers left the scene and left the rescue service looking for the dead body (they found him a couple of months later)
They (the jumpers) comunicated with the relatives from Australia trough the press!!! (bad move)
The newspapers had a good summer! We (the BASE jumpers) had to defend legal BASE jumping for the rest of the year!
It is not my meanig to put the poor guys friends in a bad light, just want to point out that his last wish probably was not to make BASE illegal in Norway!!!
To ceep it legal it is vitaly important for us to have good relationship with the police, rescueservice (they might one day save your life), The public and ceeping a distance to the media!
So there may be important to check out with locals when you go to other places with other legal systems.

The guys in Q are some of the best people to have around if something went wrong Daniel just ##### up no ones fault but his 4 years on i can say that with out a tear coming to my eyes but i still have to put people straight they did not leave him they stayed for 8 days 2 of them were told to get off the talis by the rescuers as they were looking for him they pointed to a place on the talis and 45 days later that is where they found Daniel's body .

They did not comunicate through the press .......remember the journalist motto never let the truth get in the way of a good story....

-The press here in Australia looked on this board got some of the sh!t that people were saying assuming what had happened if you people knew who the jumpers were you would have not said all the ##### you did i still hold a bitter grudge against some of you for speaking thru your ar$e's


The last thing he said was this is the best trip ive ever been on ...so the last thing on his mind was havin fun with his mates...

Daniel will not be the last one to lose to that wall

About the press when the Italian died at Kjerag i spoke to a lady in the press and asked her why she was not up here a week before she said because nothing headline grabbing had taken place also she spoke of troll i asked her tell me if troll being illegal makes it any safer and she said no!!

Makes me sick here in Australia our rescuers risked their lives many times to rescue yauchtsman cutting low across the tasman sea and when they speak on the news they are proud to have been in that rescue but when rescuing a base jumper they winge about how they risk they lives sorry to be blunt but if they dont want to rescue everyone get another job....
