Belly cam & Norway info

Going to Norway from July 5-15, and had a few questions...been to www.thebasepoint.com, have reservations at the White House in Lysbotten, do we need to contact anyone at the NBA before we show up? Any suggestions on transportation from Stavanger? Any supplies we need to pick up?

Also, if anyone has any ideas/advice/warnings on making a belly mount for a Hi-8 camera, let me know...

You will definately want to reserve a room as it gets crowded.

You do not need to check in with the NBA as far as I know, but you better be ready to show some previous BASE-Experience as they are checking now, due to non-experienced jumpers getting injured.

Belly mount; it can be a track buster. That will just mean that you will have less delay time because of distance you wont get, but nothing dangerous. I have used several types of belly mounts there, with little effect. But there is some. Of coarse, I am no track master either. So I don't have a huge track to loose anyways. :-)

About travel from stavanger most people get the ferry . The morning ferry leaves about 6am to 7am if you miss that you have to get a bus buy memory i think it leaves about 11am or 12noon to lervik and meet the ferry there .So if your plane gets you there after that you will have to spend the night in stavanger which is a top town good food but if you are a beer drinking c#nt bring lots of $$$$ For a top coffee ask a local to point you to Amys Coffee Bar

Just a tip it is easy to get a taxi to the wharf

As for supplies stop at the supermarket and buy all the food you will need for your stay as the white house has a kitchen .

For a two week trip what is the least you could spend and still eat, sleep, jump your ass off?

Take a tent if you are a total tight ass you do not have to camp in the camp ground but that is a bit rude and if you come July to aug there is always too much pasta and food from the jumpers leaving you could eat for free as last year we cleaned that fridge 5 times and throw out so much stuff not marked and the food box as well but it will cost you 40 k per day to use the house your dollar is that strong think of all the poor kiwis and oz's we get rorted . 3 years ago a Australian who always gets mixed up for being a female base jumper said " take enough money and do not worry about the cost of things '.

Regarding the bellymounts, I'm getting ready to launch three new bellymount designs this summer for BASE jumpers and skydivers. The new designs are the result of years of bellymount usage and design tweaking. I've captured some awesome footage over the years with a camera strapped to my stomach. If you want to preview some of the designs, see below or keep and eye on my website.
The three designs will try to serve all jumpers with a basic flattop model, a ball-and-socket single belt system, and a ball-and-socket dual belt system for the best camera stability.
I've got 80 units at the paint shop this week in black, red, blue, and yellow colors. These bellymount systems were designed in AutoCAD by a mechanical engineer and tested with BASE jumps and skydives for several years now. Take a peek if you dare....keep an eye out for them.
