B.A.S.E. Festival in Sochi Russia
From 2 to 6 of may in Sochi City (Russia) .The BASE festival "Russian Bridge day" will take place. The Bridge is 70 meters high. (Cris, it's not for gay Basers). There is a small hotel near the bridge (400 meeters from the bridge). Accomodites + food is 12 $ per day. The local television is going to be there too. We plane to make 12-way with flares. Freefall-freejump maximum opening hight competition. Accuracy. The Black Sea is near by (40 meeters from the bridge). Taking part in the festival is free. The only thing you need to do is come there for 5 days to live and jump, bathe in the sea and BASE. Check te photos of the jumps from that bridge on http://people.skydive.ru/victorchik
bonus: 12 kelometers far from the bridge there is a 84 meeters high factory chimney. We expect an aerostat to arrive to us. Free of charge jumps for passed registretion before 4 aprils.

is it worth travelling that far for a jump from a 70m ( 225ft ) Span ?

Just curious who might be thinking about attending this event! I would love to go to Russia for some jumping but not sure if its worth traveling that far for a 225ft. span. Any opinions from other jumpers would be great and maybe alittle headsup on the jumping in Russia.............. Also i would love to know if any other jumpers from the U.S. are thinking about making this event...........

what does the landing area look like on the other side of the bridge? Looks like power lines and train tracks... yikes!
I love the picture labeled 'student' on your site. Is that for real? You russians are hard core if it is! Stowed freefall from 225' for a student?!?!?!?
Looks like a nice legal site and it should be a cool event... post some pics after it's over.

No no. I'ts for Cris only. You know a couple of guse came to our DZ near Moscow to jump and told us stories about how they jumo with BASE rigs from airplanes and that they pull low 'cause they are not gay base jumpers. Then we invited them to jump from one antena near Moskow. They paid for taxe. they were moving by taxi fo 3 hours. And when they got to antena they didnt even climbed to the first level. They said it's to windy. And drove off.
We jumped that day several times and everything wuz fin.
P.S. Here in Russia we love gay BASE jumpers. And looking forward to meet you on The Bridge event. I'll send you photos of this antena.

Hello,E Raist!!!We're now working on it.You kan get to the Bridge from Sochi city, Krasnodar city, Anapa city and RostovNa Dony city. In ich of this towns there are international airports. Or you kanget there with one stop in Moskow, ex. you flu to Moskow and from there toSochi. now we're finding out which airlines can do this. The distance from thisCities (not including Moscow) to the Bridge is quite the same. Wen we find out we'll wright you. We're going to put some updates on http://people.skydive.ru/victorchik soon.The Map and air pics of the bridge. I'm not sure if I told you. After bridge jumping we're going to Crimea Ukraineto jump from the cliffs 260 and 300 meters high. To jump from 260 meters cliffyou must be able to run and jump. We go there by cars. It'll take us 4 or 5hours to get there. But since Ukraine is not Russia you'll need to manage outsomething with your documents, if you want to come with us. P.S. There is a factory chimney near the bridge 84 meters high. Our friend havealready jumped from there.

Thats correct. we're going to be at the bridge for 3 or 4 days. Then we're driving to Crimea Ucraine. To jump from earth.Next. There are four of you guys and we think we have all af our cars full. If you plan to fly to Sochi then you guys an one or two of Russian jumpers will go to Crimea by bus. And after our jumpers will guide you to airport in Sochi back. But since it's you it's your first time in Russia you may fly to Moscow, we jump there from antenna and buildings (in Russia we call 22 flore an exceptable exit). Then you rent a car(In this letter the car renting info included) and we go to Sochi by several other cars with you. About the accomodites - you can drive to town for action if you like, but as you remember living in this hotel near the bridge is related with event, 'cause the owner of this hotel helps us alot with city administration, road police and so on. There are more rooms than we can fill so it's no problem. Now about staying in Crimea - we have no lined up place in there but for sure there's going to be no problems to stay there.
P.S. If you plan to fly to Moscow and jump there with us you should com there at 29 of april or earlier, depends on how many days you plan to stay in Moscow. About staying in Moscow it's no problem at all 'cause we all live there and you can stay.
About how many days, no we think it's better if you fly to Sochi on 1st of may, plan to fly back on 10 of may. But to be honest we think there is no need to by ticket there and back. There will be no problems to by ticket to America any time.
And if you by the ticket to your home before you will be a ticket slave. Example: car broken - you miss the flight, sea storm, you decided to stay and jump for a few more days.
