I like to give objects nick names but I'm struggling to think of a good one for this particular object. Your inspiration is the fact that my mate (having jumped it for the first time) landed and his canopy fell backwards in to / over the mother of all thorn bushes. Understandably, he was not happy and we must have spent half an hour picking the damn thing out and scratching ourselves to hell.

So I'm looking for something like:

    "A thorny issue"

...except a lot less lame. Anyone got any ideas?

I like the Big Prick. Good one!

Gus -- if you don't mind me asking, what classification is the object (B, A, S, E, or other) and if it was an A, is it a shorty or a tall one? That might help generate some more ideas.

I love the tradition of naming jumps...it definitely adds fun and a sense of history to our sport.

Why not call it 'The George Dubya'. It's got a Bush connection and is surrounded by pricks.

It was an A in the region of 500 ft.

I like "The Ripper" as well, maybe I could insert the place name in a "The Yorkshire Ripper" stylee.

    Keep 'em coming!

    Gus

ps The canopy has been inspected and seems to have come out remarkably well

What about "The Briar Patch" or perhaps "Brer Rabbit"?

Seems like we've settled on "Old Prickly" - descriptive but affectionate. I like it.
