    Hey,

I just got my (second-hand) vision in the mail today, woohoo!

Anyway, on first inspection I have a few questions. For those that have experience with this rig, here goes:

    1. The bottom and top flap are very big, compared to other velcro rigs I've packed. Normally I close the sideflaps first, putting the shrivel flap on them, and then tuck the bottom and top flaps underneath. It seems that with this rig, you fold the top and bottom flap over first, and then do the side and shrivel flaps.

    2. Tom Aiello has, in the past, made some comments about the Gravity pin-stowed toggles releasing prematurely, even when they are set correctly. Is it simply a matter of making sure that the velcro is mated securely, or would you strongly recommend replacing the system completely with other risers? The velcro seems very new and fresh, so...

    3. The front-risers, for some reason, come with toggles attached to them. I'm assuming they're for front-riser turns, but what purpose to they have in base?

I'm about to hook up my canopy and do some packjobs on it, so I guess I'll find an answer to the first question soon. I figured I'd ask anyway. I'll also ask the person I bought it from, my local riggers, and the local base-jumpers of course.

    Thanks,

    Jaap

Okay, I just did a trash-packjob (not for jumping purposes) and so far I'm liking it. Definitely easier to close than the Odesseys I've packed. I also found the answer to the first question, which is that you still simply tuck the top and bottom flap after the side flaps are connected to the shrivel flap. At least that's what worked best for me.

I have been jumping my vision for 5 years and love it. I would have to agree with Tom about the risers though. On a 1800ft tower I had a toggle blow out on opening. The pin tore the cats eye compleatly and I lost my left stearing line and toggle. I landed ok with my right toggle and left rear riser but it scared the poop out of me.... I have not replaced my risers yet but I plan on doing so.

As far as the flaps go I close both sides and leave the ears of my canopy out of the bottom. (only folding the canopy over it self once) After the side flaps are closed I address the ears a tuck them neatly in the bottom. You can peel the side velcro back to make sure that the pack job is not messed up before tucking in the top and bottom flaps.(the canopy is a mojo 280 so there is a lot of fabric) I think you will have to play with it to get your own system going.

The dive loops are there to tell everyone that you are king **** and you like to hook your base pig canopy! Or for base crew..

Have fun and stay safe! If you have any more questions e-mail me..
ruth_pauly@bellsouth.net. If ya make it to the east coast (North Carolina) drop me a line and we can go have some fun. If me and the miss'es make it up there for the cannibus cup I will drop you a line.

    Peace.

Thanks for the help! I'm going to take these risers for some skydives, mate the velcro poorly and see if I can get them to blow up. Should be fun.

    Definitely do!

    Cheers,

I have packed a couple of visions also... and I packed them with the side flaps first then the bottom and the top... I am sure you noticed but if I remember right the velcro on the top and bottom flaps form a pocket that you can stick your finger in to help stuff these flaps under the side flaps and mate to the shrivel flap. If that makes any sense.

Is the bridle long enough to run up underneath the shrivel flap?
Also I will be travelling through N. Carolina at the end of october, and am looking for some people to hook up with, any chance of some huckin?
