We have a 180' span near us that gets jumped heaps. I've done about 30 S/L's of it myself and nowadays most of my friends are f/falling it. I really wanna join in but I've been reluctant to do so 'cause I'm concerned that the extra weight of my larger canopy (Mojo280) will slow down the extraction of the canopy from the container. Most other canopy's that get off this 180 footer are in the 245-265 region - I don't know anyone who's using a canopy as large as mine and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this size canopy that they can share.
I know there's some work that Dwain & Slim did on the same object doing a comparison on 260 v's 280 but I can't seem to find that info anywhere.
The setup is: Mojo280 (Slim's old purple one) with 9'bridle, and 50"ZP P/C. I use an upward P/C throw and launch that anchors the P/C high above the exit point on all my lower end f/falls. I've f/falled 150' before but on a much smaller canopy. The 280 is unvented but I'm totally satisfied with it's inflation performance - it's just the extraction time due to the weight of the 280 that concerns me.
If anyone with experience f/falling a similar size canopy sub200' that can share their experiences or post a link to the data that Dwain and Slim did I'd be really thankful.
Safe, fun jumps to all of ya!![]()
