They current subscriptions? What did he give you apart from the subscriptions to make you buy 40 of em?
I just wanted to take a second to reply to the insinuation that the goverment will somehow be liable if someone goes in after buying confiscated base gear. That is ridiculous. The government has no more liability for you going in than anyone else who sells you gear (unless is faulty, and even then I think it would be hard to convince a jury that the jumper didn't assume the risk...but I digress). Lets think about this for a second, are you trying to tell me that if the gov't sells you a confiscated car and you crash it and die, that the gov't is liable to you? Uh...No... Secondly, even if you could somehow establish liability the gov't has soveriegn immunity, so good luck getting anywhere near the amount of money a life is worth (in the legal world of course).
You're right. I take back my last post. I have to take a step back from the 'nanny state' mentality that we're being faced with here in Australia and in many countries around the world. Politicians are too quick to jump onto any popularist notion and make up ill concevived rules that make it difficult to just enjoy life.
BASE is getting more mainstream - and as it does we can expect more attention officials - if it is to remain as relatively unregulatted as it currently is - people have to watch what they put out there - including posts on public forums that aren't thought out. The government and its officers should have no liability or involvement in this at all.
