    Deliberately setting a forest fire

We all know the rangers in Yosemite will camp out in the meadow on their days off just to try and catch BASE jumpers. In fact, in any National park where BASE jumping is possible rangers will routinely ignore a serious crime or a call for help in hopes of catching jumpers .

So my Question is; Would you deliberately set a forest fire to distract the park rangers so you could safely make a jump in a national park?

THAT IS A REDICULOUS IDEA!!!!!! Not only would it piss them off but it certifies what everybody says! That we are just a bunch of loonitics morons who do anythig for a crazy stunt!.... While some of that may be true destroying a national park or any land or property for that matter would turn ALL of us into FELONISTS!!!!! And it would surely destroy the sport as a whole.
If we make jumps without destroying the surroundings maybe we can get the N.P.S. to start issuing permits again. Destroying the land and generally pissing off the Park Service is what got us banned in the first place!

Re: Deliberately setting a forest fire

It's not like they are going to know..... If there is a forest fire automatically it's a BASE jumper that did this!!!

    Really?

So.... while your burn'n the motherfucker to the ground you get your FLiK on. By the time they put it out you'll be drink'n beer.

Besides in some national parks you can just say your helping with the controlled burn

Please say it ain't so Smokey the Bear

hmmmm what about having ground crew shoot off some distress pyro into the air somewhere on the opposite side of the valley..... wonder if that would divert their concern for a bit

we kemo-sabe? you're the lunatic moron. they already made us criminals for jumping off a rock. How ignorant is that? Where have you been? If you haven't noticed they are already pissed off, probably because they have little dicks like you. We already make jumps without destroying the surroundings and only leave one set of footprints. I've heard this type of bullshit for 20 and years being nice hasn't worked. If you haven't noticed num nuts Those assholes will never change.

No, but if I want to burn the forest down, I might consider distracting the rangers with a BASE jump.

it adds to topsoil nutrients... im in! as an added bonus, the lush green scape would be gone, thus less tourists, thus less patrol! i really see the only negative being... well any one of the millions of things that could and very likely would go wrong if you are not very well versed in your fire safety and control.

but thats just like my opinion man.

One of the more scenic jumps I've made was with sullyflyer in the park during a controlled burn. It was spectacular. First thing B said when we got to the exit point was dude, I see town lights below.. what the... Oh shit, wait, that's the forest on fire!!"

The reason we're banned from jumping there is a few of use didn't leave just footprints. I don't know where the hell you've been. And who said anything about being nice? The only way to get our way is to be proactive without being distructive or leaving beer cans on the sides of trails.
