Peru: Non Jumping

Hey, I am looking at going to Peru in June to do the Inca Trail Trek, but rather than the tourist trap of Machu Picchu, I would prefer to do something a little more off the tourist trail going somewhere a little less well known and doesnt have a tourist train to the top - but still with access to hiring a guide.

Any suggestions / experiences on where to start looking at? I have a few ideas, but would like to get anyone with experiences there to share their thoughts.
