This jump was done for a TV show called "Just For the Record". Its the first jump from the top of the Bungonia Gorge near Goulburn NSW Australia, which later became the regular exit point. We thought it wasn't safe to jump as it didn't look very vertical from the lower exit point which we first started jumping from. History may have proved us right as there has since been a couple of fatal cliff strikes from the top exit point. With the help of the TV show I used a ramp and basically ran off it so I would be as far away as possible from the cliff when opening. We hadn't thought about tracking back in the 80's. In Australia there isn't many things high enough to track from anyway. The footage from the 16mm helmet camera was ruined during processing so we never got to see it. When I did this jump (1987) the landing area was like a dry sandy river bed. I have seen photos of the same area now (2010) and its full of very large boulders.
