Packing and jumping Slider Up.
I recently was in Switzerland and found that as I started taking longer tracking delays, the openings started getting uncomfortably brisk. Finally one jump just rocked my til I saw stars.
So I really want to flush out some things learned about sliders.
The first thing I would like to talk about are slider sizes. I was without the proper slider on some jumps while I was jumping 266' and had the opportunity to use a slider made for a 245' Canopy.
[PLEASE ADD COMMENTS TO THIS SITUATION HERE]
Large whole mesh sliders are used for jumps between 3 to 6 second delays, but it has been know for people to use them in terminal jumps without an issue. For me, I find that about 5 seconds delay with a vented canopy is all I can physically stand for opening shock.
Small whole mesh sliders are used for jumps with a 5 to 10 second delay, but it has been know for people to use them in terminal jumps without an issue. I have started using a small whole mesh slider for my delays from 5 to 10 seconds along with direct control of the slider to soften the opening shock.
