It happened on the 4th of December. The jumpers name was Darrell Dunafon and he hit power lines at the base of the tower. It was a 275' freestander in Southern Arizona.

I don't know if Darrell is from Texas, I thought he was an AZ local.

Here's the news article w/video (http://www.abc15.com/content/news/centralsouthernarizona/casagrande/story/BASE-jumper-killed-when-parachute-catches-in/P7mCQ0yaP0ScSFzgqJcvbw.cspx).

CASA GRANDE, AZ -- Officials say a man was has died after his parachute became caught in power lines while BASE jumping from a nearby cell tower Friday night.

Pinal County Sheriff's Lt. Tamatha Villar said 23-year-old Darrell Dunafon was parachuting with two others from the tower near Peters and Bianco roads around 9:30 p.m. when his parachute was caught in the 12,000 volt lines and he was shocked.

Lt. Blake King said Dunafon had a faint pulse when rescuers arrived and shut off power to the lines. The victim was transported to a Casa Grande hospital where he died.

Villar said Dunafon and two male friends broke into the cell tower property and the county attorney is considering charges at this time.

Dunafon was a Tucson resident but had recently purchased a home in Gilbert, according to Villar.
