    Pilot Chute Oscilattion

I started looking at my video for TF and noticed this Pilot Chute Oscillation

YouTube- base jumping Mick Old School flat exit...

Is this what Pilot Chute Oscillation is actually looking like. I do not remember any wind at all during this jump.

    I was using a non-vented G.S. Hook pilot chute.

I couldn't get the video to play, but of course you are going to have osicilation. It is a non-vented PC. The air is constantly traying to flow in and out of the PC without a place to go. The air spilling out of the sides instead of the top through a vent. It is an uneven distrobution of air. That why vents rock. I'm sure the Cooper brothers can get even more technical if need be.

I would love some help to get more information on the Pilotchute Oscillation page if anyone can help out with technical details (text).

I was told the rate you pitch at can also influence oscillation.

The PC oscillation in that video is just PC.

All mine are vented. I have 2 Asylums (46/38) and a Morpheus (42)

    All work great. No oscillation.

    Buy a new one.

also remember that if you hook it up even slightly asymmetrically, it will cause any PC to oscillate.
